Tell me about it ... i cant believe this ... i find out about this yesterday when i did an update on Russell Donovans www.salooncar.co.nz/donovan/website talking about this meeting but its too late for me because im booked on a Boxing Day ferry to the SI for a holiday and the NZ super saloons, I tried to change my bookings but NO all booked out i am so annoyed I am going to miss one of the best promotional events of the year for Super saloons all because of some very bad promotions or no promotions as it is. SORRY Willie i try not to publicly judge your promotion but man you have done such a bad job on this one and have let fans down here. When the guys turn up at Cromwell for the champs fizzing about this meeting and and talking it up i will feel left out and PISSED off, actually i hope it rains then i wont feel so bad ..... sorry about that my friends. Whos comming..........whos the line up? Gee Nev, its like saying I had a really nice meal at a resturant and you should go but not say where the resturant is.......

It is disappointing salooncar. Had we known how big this event potentially was we would have done BP on the 27th and caught the 2nd nite of the Stockcar teams champs in Wgtn. Once again BP misses out on paying fans due to lack of promotion . Thank goodness for the good people at Macgors Oh well, have a feeling we are going to get our moneys worth in Wgtn on both nights

Yes you are right I should have known, even competitors from BP should have known 3 weeks ago when I spoke to them at Huntly and even a prominet Super competitor didnt know a week ago "what was happening" ? I spoke to a Auckland driver on Monday night and he didnt know that it was on and is now very very annoyed to say the least. YES you are right "I Should Have Known" It is disappointing salooncar. Its hard to imagine this guy can be a director, charged with "fostering the sport" for competitors. At least when reading the SNZ minutes from meetings it looks like he's loosing his grip on the place - I see he was voted off as chairmen at the previous meeting, and voted off as vice president in the last minutes. Not sure if he's up for election at this meeting, but they way he refuses to work with any tracks around him can;t be helping the sport in the BOP at all.

Not to defend him , just state the facts. Willie Kay is a good Promotor, always has been. Its just a couple of things let him down, this is where he really needs a PR man. He ran 6 years as promotor at WS and did a good job. He ran 6 years prior for Bonner and did a good job. He has been at Baypark and brought down USA Sprintcar stars that for some people they may have never ever seen race live. Anyone who slags him off obviousley has not been around speedway for that long. Like I said, not defending him he just needs that PR man and the rest will take care of itself. I am also one for having Midgets race on a regular basis at Bay Park and I am sure Willie is on to this

Firstly this tread is not about slaggin Willie off NO WAY its about not promoting this TOP event. A good friend of mine and long time Tauranga racer and supporter who is also going to Cromwell was lucky enough to be able to change his ferry bookings so that he could be there is also very annoyed that this event has been sold short. Aaron i have been around speedway a long time so um yer Not to defend him , just state the facts. Willie Kay is a good Promotor, always has been.
