I sincerely hope that is not how its going to work, I would be considerably peeved for a team to make the top 4 then get knocked out by a team that hadn't even raced up to that point.
If they want in, they should qualify the hard way like every other team.

i hope the palmy promotion take note of what the paying punter thinks of this unjust idea. any support(which wasnt much anyway) i may have had for the gb team has well and truly gone out the door if this was to be how they plan on doing things. i cant imajine anyone supporting this concept think again palmy promotions

I certainly dont think that the palmy promotion would be that naive to run it like that the last i heard from the Promotor it was still 12 teams, the interest will be on whom is dropped has to be either Manawattu Mustangs( being a second palmy team) or Kihikihi Kings(being the newest team) what has thrown me is the advert in the lastest NZDTR stating 13 teams. yes the preview above it states a retainment of 12 teams so that makes it rather confusing.

I certainly dont think that the palmy promotion would be that naive to run it like that...... I agree Marty, but at the same time, it is a privately promoted event and as such the promoter can run it however they like. A similar arguement was developing over the stockcar teams event with the promoter deciding who attends and who doesn't.

Since 2005 the Teams at Palmy has been built up to a strong event again after a slump the Promotors would definatly not want to anger the spectators or the Kiwi teams and risk what is a near sell out stadium now on both nights

And the Mustangs won before the Panthers started their current three-peat. A bit harsh to drop either.

And the Mustangs won before the Panthers started their current three-peat. A bit harsh to drop either. Thats probably why we have ended up with a 13 team tournament. The possibility of bringing in a British team was an unmissable opportunity for the Palmy Promotion. Yet at the same time there is no legitimate reason to eliminate any of the current teams. I can't see how the 13 team tournament is going to work but I guess we will find out. Hopefully a team will try to front full of ringins to make the decision easy for Palmy....allthough given even lil ol Kihikihi is able to front a team of locally registered cars I dealt anyone else is struggling

Was just reading the team GB website and it says They will be 13 teams contesting the event, split into 4 groups with the winners of each group along with the 4 next highest point scorers making up the 8 teams that will go through to the second day. The draw for the group will be made 2 weeks prior to the championship. How the are going to get 3.25 teams into each group i dont know
