the night was great overall but the track was letting the night down but the highlight of my night was sitting on the exit of turn 4 (where the entry to the bar is) and watching Allard pull wheel stands off the ruts and just lapping cars in less then 2 laps. Why are these yanks so great? is it because they have a great set-up or do these people just have balls to not ease off the throttle i would like to see more of these drivers back at baypark, is any standout drivers going to be at the south Pacific sprintcar champs on the 30th? Share your thorts

Yep, they drive real great.
Probably the biggest difference with the Americans that I have noticed is that they are not afraid of passing around the outside.
Boxing night at Western Springs saw Allard take a line at least one width wider than most of the other competitors and he just went past many competitors like they were standing still. He was great to watch.
Also, if you listen to the engine tone of the American driven cars they do not take appear to come off the throtle much if at all.
To be fair to local talent the Americans can run up to three times the meetings a season than we do here so their "seat time" is much greater than the Kiwis.............. the more you do the better you are.
That being the case their responses and actions become more natural and the body and mind handles the racing more easily and therefore more effectively as its not a forced thought to execute any moves.
At the Springs that night the 19A car was driven by Paul McMahan.
I didn't realise this as the car had no signage displayed to say "USA" or otherwise which I felt was very slack as far as the meeting promotion went.
Anyway the car went the fastest I've seen it go all season because of the driver.
I look forward to the continued growth in NZ sprintcar racing and the regular visits from USA and Australian drivers.
The more the better.

Skinny went toe to toe with Allard for a few laps. Kerry-Anne held Bill Rose off for a few laps too. The Americans, or any driver that gets as much seat time as them, make less mistakes which ultimately gets them to the front. Bill Rose was probably keeping the 5m car in one piece for the springs. The locals can’t help but learn from these visitors for set ups and driving technique They are awesome to watch as are any of our drivers when they are on fire and in the groove. Baypark meetings #6 #6 #5 #4 #4 #3 #2 #1 #0

In my opinion what makes the US drivers better than us is simple. Its about doing LAPS !!!!!! When the US calendar starts in Feb & ends in Nov it says it all really . How many meetings does the average Kiwis proabaly 20+ maybe & if you run at Western Springs solely 12 with a couple practice sessions.
