HI all,
I recall Ollie Brown (RIP) very kindly donating a trophy to the hero of the teams champs, the driver who made the biggest impression over the two nights of racing, who conisstantly performed and made people cheer, gasp, scream etc.
A great way to acknowledge some of the heroics drivers perform in the heat of battle.
I think the last few winners of the superstock title were
2003 Paul Demanser (HB) 2004 Peter Bengston (Panthers) 2005 6 a/w Graeme Ward (raced for two teams in a stockcar, and semidinals) 2006 Scott Miers (Panthers) 2007 Peter Bengston (Panthers) 2008 Shane Penn (Panthers)
I think this trophy has been compromised somewhat now as its now only given to PN drivers - against the spirit of the original gift unfortunatly I think but anyway..
Who was your Hero of the Teams champs in WEllington this year?
A tough call...but for me the bloke who made an impact, out of the blue, in every race for me was
Zac Thompson in the Ford V8 flat chassis.
Hit super hard in every race, and the car only stopped in the run off for 3rd and 4th.
Interested to hear others thoughts on who the hero of the Stockcar teams champs should be.
Well down to all drivers, your all contenders for getting out there and giving it a huge crack.
cheers
Obby

Too many options but for me its either
82b Mike McLachlin - hitting was superb and kept dishing and recieving. Suprised not to see him in the semi.
zac thompson eastern states- for the same above barron from gisborne 62g- Drove very smart and took the hits on the way. Believed he took a win too
Auckland- whoever was causing those role overs.

[glow=red,2,300]ZAC THOMPSON[/glow] ! Hoping..... specially the way I'm going with my car.....he has retired by the time I hit the track ;D Some of those hits were sickening, specially the one on "?" Gaskin - Ouch. Zac must be sore today??! Can't do those hits all weekend in a flatty and not feel it surely But at the end of the day, they are all heros, as they were out there, getting pumbled from all directions. Well done to them all!! (Especially the TITANS - Well done fellas!!!!!!!)

Well the Zac Attack doesnt seem to know fear, doesnt care if you are a big name or not, i remember when i was racing at eastern states he put Brendan higgins up the wall twice in one race, brendan repayed him by latching onto the back of Zac in his super and pushing him all the way down the straight before buttoning off, probably the fastest zac's old car had ever been, was bluudy funny, his Brother Sam is no slouch either, he went on a holiday to Ireland and the meeting before he went he put $100 on his own head for someone to roll him, didnt happen tho lol
