Was it on? Did most cars show and who looked the goods? I did a lap around the track this time last year ( albeit , it was on foot ) and can say if it's going to be nice and drivey for the most part , it should be a fantastic spectacle for all those that attend this meeting.

Had a small report that suggested the track looked drivey. they weren't over practising it by throwing lots of cars at it for many laps. Also, after last weeks crash at BP Brent Emerson has made it down there. Was meant to get another up date but didn't.

What about Craig Cardwell, be interesting to see how he goes in his first ever NZ title.

Ray didn't go out, not wanting to give away any secrets! Absolutely awesome pit atmosphere in stunning weather conditions. Efforts by the club to keep water in the track has been amazing and successful in mid 30's temperatures and strong winds. Craig C quickly took to the track, unfortunately also taking to a very muddy patch on the infield at the end of a run (his crew chief was NOT impressed - being present NZ1). I think Craig will do his dad real proud! Russel Donovan 71m unable to make it. We'll see what unfolds tomorrow at scrutineering, taking place here at the Golden Gate in Cromwell from 10 - 2pm. It is hoped all competitors will convoy to the track. Already eaten a couple of kilos of cherry's and taken 200 plus photos. i41.tinypic.com/1z4eo2r.jpg[/IMG]Somebody doesn't know it's rude to point!Cromwell has changed the race direction in a vain attempt to secure the title for the South ...Racing clockwise was only the start, another southern ploy was to race three wheelers...

Emo looked the goods on the outside line, but know one else was game to have a go an inch off the wall but brent showed the drive was up there, and it looked like the fast lane to me.

Well its a dream come true. All these guys out for Practice like was mentioned earlier The Goat riding the Wall(hope hes got plenty of right hand doors) Craig looked pretty comfortable in his outing. Didnt see much of practice due to other Jobs. Russell Donovan has pulled out due to work Commintments. Kevin Moore out due to engine probs on dyno. A few top SI drivers oly attending Practice to Watch!!!!! Lots of praise for track and effort put in by club for practice. This was followed by a legends night which was Hosted by Clint Brown and it was well supported congratulations to Heath Whyte for this event. Schumaaka off the track at 1am (getting in some additional practice), am lost for words as to what to say about the effort this Man has put in to this event. Vehicle Checking today is at the Golden Gate from 10 till 2. Time to go back to track and throw more water at it then of to Vehicle Checking. Will be attempting to put results up tonight..........
Regards Phil Promoter

I should get a few that I will post, but it will be more from an action point of view rather than complex results. It's just from a mate rubbing it in that I am not there to see Emo grab the silverwear!

Not from practise, but a bit from scruntineeing. It sounds like a few cars are being pulled up for their rear wings. Doesn't this happen each year?
Is it a case of drivers pushing the boundaries? It doesn't seem to be a safety issue to me, so it seems to be more of pedantic scruntineering of an average rule.
Rules are rules tho I spose, but I would of thought that seeing as how it has been a problem for a while, a remit would have been put forward to change the rule book.

Not aware of aNY MAJOR ISSUES, but a number of cars have had to modify their rear spoilers, overall length and height issues ... Woopee, lets frustrate some dude who looks far to happy to be here!

weather good to go Murray ? Windy overnight and woke to overcast and cooler temperatures, strong wind. In to Arrowtown for brunch (35 minutes towards Queenstown) and weather closed in with heavy rain off and on. 2.30pm Cars have now all left the scrutineering venue, Golden Gate Hotel, and are at the track. Total high cloud cover with strong winds and intermident light rain. Will take the lap top to the track! PS: Sneaky Pete (Sloman) has shown his face. I suspect he might be grabbed for class rep duties!
