on friday the track after 3 practices looked like there had been two nights racing on it, quite often during racing you couldnt see the cars at the road end of track because of dust. the crowd went home wearing a layer of clay and dust, even the people in top rows of stands wore clay. have not seen the track in such a state for a long time, very dissappointing.saturday night was not too bad probably thanks to the rain during the night, some good racing though

have just been told it wasn't usual track crew. Could you do better. I was there Friday and track was good. What track were you at? ? Certainly wasn't Meeanee! There was a huge rut on the friday down the pit end that was causing stockcars to get completely airborne, followed by a large crater about 3 metres long that caused heaps of dust to come up every time a car went round the turn. No offense to the volunteers at our track who give their time, but the track on Friday was nowhere near the standard it should have been for a national championship. All credit should however go to them for the surface they managed to prepare on Saturday given the state of the track on the Friday. Saturdays track was very good, and was certainly helped by the rain during the night.

The cream of the drivers still rose to the top. just because there is a rut you dont have to drive though it every lap

I dont know anything about making a good track but the weather conditions on Friday cant have been good for it. The track couldn't hold water to save its self.
There would have been about been about 2 or 3 races where there was dusty conditions then the track came back somewhat.
I was amazed at the amount of flat tires over the whole weekend. I suspect that the rut might have been caused from a couple of rims digging in at that corner then the rest of the drivers went on the same line causing it to flake off. Just my opinion.
Seemed alot of drivers had low PSI to stop the under steering into the corners and once the track dried after the 4 or 5 lap the tires dug in and came off the rim. The water truck came out before every race.

Just my opinion, the track was s##t on Friday and for the cream that rose to the top the track let that happen for them. There was one race line, so when someone came off that line to take the cream out, they went backwards!!It was the NI champs and the track wasnt good enough.Have a look at the lap times, it was about five seconds slower then a club night. On Saturday night the track was starting to turn to S##t and then the heavens opened up,then there was about half an hour of wheel packing of about 20 plus cars and one very big truck. Now we have a better track than we have had all weekend, just my opinion but if this was the superstocks, spriters, etc (bigger dollar boys) there would have been hell to pay!!!! There was alot of action on the track on Friday but that was because of the track, not from good driving and drivers taking people out. cheers Thomas......Peter Rees is the man!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

In my view the problem came when they had fridays practice where instead of watering the track after 3 lots of cars had came out they left it about 5 or 6 lots and the track got far to dry and from then the damage had been done. But they redeemed themselfs on sat where the track was awesome weather the rain came or not, big thumps up! To all the moaners get over it!

Shudn't have lots of cars practising 3 hours before the meet. May have been able to replace surface moisture but not the deeper stuff. Practise the night before, should have been the go.

Great to see some expert comments. NOT! Great to see some expert comments. NOT! thats the mentality of the officals at Meeanee speedway every thing is NOT, I seen you walking on the track oh so very daint, We are all not tring to offend any body,we are tring to give constructive criticism as we are use to such high standards as in the past seasons,we all no that the track is alot better than that, just look at the lap times, and then have a look at lap times when the track is on,cheers

Friday night the track appeared in reasonable condition at the beginning of the everning but as the night progressed, the program was getting behind and in an attempt to speed things up the next lot of race cars were released onto the track to grid up before the previous cars were removed. This restricted the amount of time the water truck had to replenish the moisture in the track. Extra attention was given to the corner that cut up when identified. With practice ealier in the day and the hot day/everning I personally thought the track held up well considering.
Being cooler saturday and the shower of rain left a near perfect surface.
Just the way I seen it from the sideline.
