Cos this is a "DISCUSSION BOARD" I was wonder on peoples thoughts on the following ... With the weekend just gone Gisborne held the NZ SIDE CHAIR GP.. FRIDAY Night the TOP 16 was found .. SATURDAY Night 3 of the 5 Heats were completed before the rain hit and Meeting was called off ... 2 Heats to run on Sunday .. SUNDAY Rained OFF .. Club decision to run the final 2 heats this SATURDAY.. NOW THE QUESTIONS ...- Who would return to race the final 2 heats a week later?
- Is the Club best to re Schedule the finals night (5 Heats) later in the season?
- Should the meeting be declared?
- Whats the OFFICIAL Rules?
Please don't BAG anyone Its ALWAY a tuff decision to call off a meeting ... Just want to know what others think ... |

similar thing happened in huntly on sat for minisprints but managed to run on sunday, but think you can run whole thing again if you cant get heats done within 21 days, always a tough decision

Best bet is to give the option to the drivers that qualified as they are the people who will be affected by the delay.

A rerun would probebly raise the ire of someone with 3 wins, or 2 wins and a second. However someone from more than a few hours away (read nearly everyone not from gizzy ;D), who has maybe 1 or 2 points on the board already might not be so keen. That leads to the problem of a couple of heats maybe run with only one or two of the four bikes starting (depending if the reserves have already been used or turn up) If Gizzy were to ask my advice (yeah like that would happen ;D) Because its a GP and not a NZ champs would be ring the 16 finalists and find out how many will be back, if its 95-100%, all good and well. If its 13 or less then maybe, in consultation with competitors and SNZ then maybe have the top 6 on points back for a three race series (6 points down to 1 point) to decide the GP winners. A tough call for gizzy to have to make either way. |
