Who was the text from though?? ;D ;D ;D ;D Last Wednesday the track was not conducive to racing befitting such a cast of stars, but it sounds like I missed a sensational Saturday night show. Hopefully racing is still on tonight?

There is no rain date for this meeting which would suggest they can't run Friday even if they wanted to.
I thought Waitangi Day is one of the Holidays they can't run under their agreement with the residents??
Fingers crossed for a good show tonight

hasn't had any roll overs (apart from lil tip over), one hard hit in wall when steering broke. Rest dnfs mechanicals.
He got confuzzled by a smart ass saying they couldn't run the lights tonight because of the "power shortage" and were running tomorrow day meeting instead (while he at work).

Pickens won the 40 lapper from Alach and Kendall. Coons Jnr had a big lead, again, but was blag flagged for noise I think - was looking elsewhere - and Kuhn finished third but was DQ'd for ignoring the black flag over a dozen times. And so he should have been........
Kiwis won the test, 5 cars to 3............yes, team USA could only front with 3 cars in this race. Coons won, but the Kiwis now lead 99-62 (or something close to that)

Sensational Night with Drama to end........ Well done Ron Salter and Ryan O'Connor for his first Sprintcar Feature Win flag to flag win even with Logan hot on his heals - Watch this space!

Yep the Coons Jr car failed alright. The bloke could have won all three features but keeps on finding new ways to DNF.
Kuhn not following the black flag is the officials own fault. At the last meeting Shayne Alach did the same thing in a heat race and was included in the final results. That set the precedent to ignore the black flag without punishment and it's no surprise to see someone doing exactly that.
I must admit I was laughing pretty hard when the officials yellow lighted the race and kept on showing him the board. What part of "I'm not coming off" do you think they were missing!!??
Thank goodness the yellow didn't effect the overall result in a big way.
Anyway I enjoyed the meeting and man o man those TQ's are really producing the goods at the moment.

At the time of the yellow in Midget feature. the time was 10pm ( half hour ahead of time). Why wasnt the red light put on and Kuhn towed off. This is the second time in 2 nights this guy has ignored the black flag/board. But since he ignored everything and they threw the green, he should be told to NOT COME SATURDAY. WE DONT WANT YOU.

In total agreement scw. We have been told in every drivers briefing that the blackboard will be used as the black flag for noise. Ignore it at your peril, minimum standown will be a month. The Springs is now confronting major noise issues again with council, the future is again in doubt............

The Springs is now confronting major noise issues again with council, the future is again in doubt............ The black flag for Kuhn had nothing to do with noise the officials felt that the muffler "MAY" fall off thus being dangerous to following cars who may have hit it. I had to have a bit of a laugh tho when i asked one of the officials if that was what they were worried about, then why hadn't the sprintcar in the previous race not been black flagged for his front wing which was hanging off the car? surely that would do just as much damage. He had no answer lol In my opinion Kuhn did the right thing after what happend at the last meeting in the incident with Alach why should Kuhn have pulled off when Alach got away with it? I totally agree that if the muffler had fallen off and he was then over the noise limit he definately should have been black flagged. But to be black flagged because they thought that it "might" fall off is just a joke when they let other drivers get away with similar things e.g Jonathon Allard on boxing night with front wing hanging off and a flat front tire spraying chunks of clay into the crowd to me seems much more dangerous.

I was in the pits when Kuhn came in after the race and was told not to work on or touch the car.
Along came the stewards who wiggled his muffler about and off they went to "discuss" the situation.
Kuhn insisted the muffler was secure and there were two bolts holding it on ... although one of the track officials told him that was B******t. And off Brad went to lodge a protest.
Anyway, put the mechanicals aside for a moment and go back to the black flag(black board). We all know that in motorsport if you're shown the black flag you MUST pull off the track.
Kuhn failed to do so and MUST now face the consequences !
I'd be very surprised if he was allowed to start on Saturday night.
And re the muffler ... I've been in attendance twice at the Springs ... in the '82-'83 season when a visiting Chch drivers muffler went into the crowd by where the VIP stand is now ... and again in (I think) '96 when a muffler flew off a local midget and went over the crowd in town bend.
Can you imagine what would happen if that happened last night.
We'd have the smarmy TV One & 3 news crews all over us portraying us as boy racers out to maim innocent children all adding fuel to the fire of those that want the speedway shut down ... and no, I'm not being over emotive, you know exactly what would happen.

Thats correct Maggs, they have a Qld Club round there in Lismore. P.S Lismore is close to the border of Qld anyway. You want to hope for him tonight Maggs, he will start rear of feild I have been told as he is leading the Club Champs by 14 points up to tonight, and a feature I believe has not yet been completed in any of the rounds, washed out. I think its done on a handicap system, going to be tough for him Maggs. March 7 the NSW Title will be held there ha ha has that confused you yet !!!!
