How did 99a Shane McInteer go today As stated he had a few problems. A lack of oil pressure was one that Macca mentioned. This was funny as hell though, fell on his side then slid along on the siderail right into the mud..... 13R had a spin while the first two stopped in time, the 3rd car didn't!

Yesterday was a good day catching up with people that I've not seen for a while, and meeting new people , which is a really big part that speedway in NZ offers. Well done Kihikihi for a mid winter fix for all that attended. Still a couple of bugs for us to iron out for the 99 car. I set the car up too loose for the 1st race . I thought it was mid winter. The car only ran clean for the 1st few laps before having no power exiting the corners and only picking up 1/2 way down the straight, only to do it all again in the next corner. We made changes for the next race but lost oil pressure pre race wheel packing, so pulled infield immediately. We found a collapsed oil filter was the cause . Got another from repco on the way home . ( as no one had one in the pits ). Changed it at Pokeno after a big feed and we had 70 lbs oil pressure at idle . Next run will be at Huntly's 1st practice. 26th of September. Big thanks to Tony and Reece for helping me out with fuel even though I've not used it yet. And to Ezra , Sarron and Chris. ( Yesterdays crew )

A clean start by 13r and Rossco 77k Saloon gets beaten by the ref after taking the lead ... A few laps in to the final saloon race re-start, from a held held video. 99m gets a bit of help from the ref and 98h favours the inside pole line for passing ... View My Video

Took the tribe and an old retired stockcar driver down for my first look at this Kihi kihi track I have heard of. We were able to park up on the hill which was brilliant with 3 young kids, as if it started to spit, the kids jumped into the car, if it got too cold or windy, again vehiculus warmacus was right there to jump into.
Racing was pretty good, the track obviously cut up as was well documented, but there was a family pass worth of racing to be had for sure.
The one point I was really impressed with, was the road marking truck that was despatched to paint a very clear pole line around the track and indeed used to also mark the bike race track just inside the track itself. That was so quick and professional looking. Is this the norm or a new addition to KK?
Speedway fix had, (check!)
Roll on the 'new' season now and well done KK.

They dont have a pole line at Kihikihi at the moment due to track alterations, so the road marking truck did a great job. Have watched the racing there with no pole line and you can't tell who's cutting it. I would say they will have a concrete one put in in the next few months to accommodate the NZ Super stock camps in January . Roll on summer ;D

Who are you calling 'retired' Hoonie (I'll admit to the old) The track looks awsome, would have to be one of the top Super Saloon tracks now and the Superstocks will get huge speed there, so dont stant too close to the fence ;D. I'll definatly be visiting again this season, hopefully with car in tow.

Some of us travelled vast distances to support Kihikihi Speedway.
It was a relaxed afternoons racing and although it was a bit chilly I enjoyed it. That's the way Kihikihi should be, a relaxed Sunday afternoon where everyone has a bit of fun without the pressure of running for major titles.
