man i love it when people moan about the stockcars at baypark and the lack of hitting GET OVER IT! if you want to talk the talk, start walking the walk! 10 cars on that size track... of course its not going to be action packed racing, especially when the "series" is happening. the only thing i am disappointed in was the lack of race time last night. i know that santa made an appearance and that took time, but come on. a 8 lap feature for the stock cars when it was suppose to be "our" night!!?? anywho... it was an ok nights racing, the track was pretty torn up (and it was like that before the stockcars came out). oh and the winner of the feature race for the ministocks was Brad Marsh ;D Sorry Porky, you are wrong, if you can’t see what is wrong with 9 stock cars flag racing then you are not seeing the woods for the tree’s! Clearly defending your class which is all good, however as one that does walk the talk in speedway, watching the final race of the stock cars was embarrassing in any way you look at it. No wonder it was cut short to 8 laps, snore.............. watching Stock cars not even tap and spin, what sort of stock cars are they? You don’t need to commit your body on the line for at least some form of contact. I mean the cars were braking so they would not run in to each other in the corners. Someone needs to tell these guys to go buy a saloon/ super saloon, but then again they may not like the contact........ Way too little cars for a series, should have been dumped if the class can only manage 9 or 10 cars on that night and just run a club night race. Poor management on behalf of the promoter, had the chance to promote an Australian Vs NZ Super Saloon, what a dream come true for a promoter surely.

I guess with only ten cars on a track the size of BayPark you are never going to see alot of action .Also the fact it was a stockcar series over 3 meetings , would encourage them to race for points . BayParks track being as big as it is requires a good field of stockcars to put on a decent show . The promoter would not of known how many stockcars were turning up on the night , and would of been unfair to stand down the ten cars that did turn up.
At KihiKihi yesterday the stockcar field would have almost doubled the BayPark figure , with local and visiting cars . Apart from Andrew Weir having a bit of fun spinning cars , there was no contact over the 3 races whatsoever. Also 30 plus Superstocks , apart from the Rotorua car that virtual got tangled and rolled himself , no contact at all over 5 races. Streetstocks are another contact class present that were very tame.

Nice post highrevz I wasn't paying attention to the stocks on Saturday but of the 10 competitors there were ... 1 out of towner? 1 just back from car damage and body injury suffered at the first second meet (61m Paul Stewart)? 1 first time out this season (27m Steve my wheel fell off Daniel) 1 first time out this season, at BP, for (22m Les Hepworth) methinks? So that leaves 6 cars that may have run last week. 8 cars away at u23 (Thank you Willie for letting them go? + well done Ryan Hunt for 3rd place. I havent seen how the rest did) plus X? amount of damaged cars that didn't show plus X? amount of registered cars that haven't shown to date? I dont know where I'm trying to go with this... Heres a pic of half the field (2 new season noobs, 2 regulars and 1 out of towner) RADIO HAURAKI STOCK CAR SERIES PICTUREkeep it up guys + gals. Most of us have managed to hang on to our jobs while going backward at a great rate of knots... fiscally. GOOD TIMES!

Thanks for the videos Murry and Nutz for the great shots as always. Was on dial up and just gone to broadband ,so can watch them now. That Walling dude was making some good moves in that Brick in the 1st race. Good to watch it on video from a different part of the track. Enjoyed the night and great to see a good Field of supers. Stock cars was a good time to get a hot dog . Used to be my favorite class ,but when they don't entertain ,its to hard to watch. Have seen some good races over the years with less cars than ten in them because the drivers wanted to put on a show, and i don't mean wreaked cars or body's on the line either, Block Tap Spin , not to much to ask for . Maybe I'll have to go to Rotorua to see that ;D
