blenheim and nelson are good they charge the pitcrew $7 and the driver gets in free That is much more acceptable . I think ruapuna would be to tight to do that .

If I can read right ... baypark is free for driver + 1 crew (2 peoples) which would = $6.70 each for 3 peoples or $10.00 each for 4 peoples or $12.00 each for 5 peoples or $13.33 each for 6 peoples or $14.29 each for 7 peoples or $15.00 each for 7 crew + 1 driver

Its a bit tough having to pay as our member ship so high for the season an still have to pay to get in. The other night because it was the saloon gp had to pay more. They say the only time i would get in for free is if i had gone to 3 working bee's i live an hour away. I dont think they will even help out with travel. I go to other tracks an get in for free an couple more passes an travel money it might not be much but every little bit helps when your on a budget. my rant over

Anyone unfamiliar with the sport, could be excused for thinking a prerequisite for becoming involved was an ability to forever feel hard done by.
Im more than happy for drivers, crew and associated hangers on to get free entry for "putting on the show"......as long as the "paying public" can get a refund if the promised "show" never eventuates.
Sunday afternoons at non SNZ aligned tracks would be a better fit for all those who feel so put out.
Better still,form a group.

bigredcorvette if you have such a problem with it then maybe you should leave you sons car at home, and not race? and traveling drivers and 1? crew are free at ruapuna Hey if it was up to me I would rather visit the mother-in-law (I hate my mother-in-law) than go to ruapuna , that is not my kind of speedway ( Woodford Glen is the best) but my son want to race his mini stock and I didn't think ruathingya would be that bad , Boy was I wrong . Anyway this thread is about weather people think drivers should pay to race at there own track . Not my fault if ruapuna is the only track in the south island that charges their drivers to get in the entertain the paying public . Why don't you stick to this thread subject , as I'm aloud my opinion . actually you from the get go made this a slagging fest towards ruapuna, more than teh subject at hand I guess if you want to pay the bills, prepare the track, do all the work involved with promoting and advertising, then you can enter for free, however if you wish just to turn up and in your case have a safe environment for your boy to race do you not think its 30$ well spent, knowing you have a fire crew and st john on hand in case things do go wrong, people always assume your there for the paying public, however in most case, the track is prepared for people to go out, have some skids and blow of some steam in a controlled environment. the crowd are only there to see you having fun(and in times it all go wrong) so really $30 is very little to ensure the future of and said track like i say if you unhappy with Ruapuna, then best you go to another track to race.....

It depends on the track I recon and how they get there revenue. My home track Palmy has good crowd numbers and drivers and one crew get in free sometimes they let you get another in for free just depends.
If I go to harrisville I'm happy to go for skid out there and pay $30 as it costs alot to run a track with no spectator revenue.
Although we are the entertianment we can't expect everything for nothing alot of tracks get by on very little money. Wanganui is another I'm happy to pay to race at and they don't always charge. They try pretty hard to put on good events for a big range of classes. This year they are spending alot to upgrade there facility and someones going to have to pay.

What always p*ssed me off was having to pay extra on the big nights that I wasn't even involved in. For many years I gladly crewed for a Mod at WG. Enjoyed it and learnt heaps. But when a Hoopla was on (never a Mod Hoopla, but that's for another b*tch session) we still had to pay extra. Did I see any of it? No, I was busy crewing which is what I was there for. Yet I still had pay extra for the privilege of being in the pits with the "important" cars.

It's like asking Tom Jones to pay to get into one of his own concerts. Just doesn't seem right .

Most other forms of motor sport you pay to enter the event wether a club day or a nation or international event. Karts I would pay $30 for the club day. Most clubs I would say are on tight bugets and must recoup their cost somewhere and I believe driver and 1 crew should be refunded at end of the day incentive to race and not turn up for show. The other option would be put up the cost to spectators. For those drivers that fel they are hard done by you have a choice put up or maybe get on the committee and help run the club run without charging.

Just doesn't seem right . hey bigredcorvette, would you just stop moaning about having to pay to get into the gate on race night, other tracks in nz have to pay to get in the gate to and do you see anyone else moan about it? no you dont if you keep moaning how about you go and suck up your mother n laws bum instead of coming to the racing. your just lucky that there is a track in chch that is willing to have the youth ministocks at there track every race night. yeah woodford glen maybe a cool track but hey they had the right for the youth and how many times did they race there? bugger all that i can remember becouse they didnt want them and now that one person has stod up for the youth and a big ups for that guy the youth are actualy getting noticed and not for once getting pushed aside. put it this way since the youth has been at ruapuna they have now got a series going that involves other tracks eg: cromwell, dunedin even ashburton want to work in with it so what does that tell you??? i honest advise is to get your head out of your back side and help ruapuna they might not be well off like woodford glen and palmy and all those tracks but hey atleast they are taking on the youth and giving them a track to race on. thanks to the guy thats helped the youth you no who you are and thanks for the out of towners that come over and have a good time (pitty our own people cant have fun).

Hey take a chill pill , Ruapuna only has the youth ministock for the money, as there was 15 youth ministocks there on Saturday, that was about 30 adults (just with the cars) at $15 each not to mention others that came to watch the mini stocks . The youth are our future top drivers . I am NOT alone in thinking that drivers should NOT have to pay to get in . It is a matter of principle . We really get looked after at the Glen , The numbers that go there prove that . what a load of S@$T I was at one of the meeting where it was voted to run the youths, all classes were asked what they thought, All the sprintcar boys liked the ideas because A/ It attached a different crowd B/ they are the drivers of the future i was also at one of the meeting where entry was discussed, and options where given, Drivers voted on the pay for entry Im guessing you missed that meeting

Codi 91H A track that runs production saloons on a major night should be thankful anyone heads through the gate in the first place. Ask BRC if you can borrow his violin.
