And also, I'm not sure whats it like now as I dont go to the pub much these days, but in the past when the smokefree legislation came in, and we had smokers areas outside of the pubs in the beergardens and the like, what happened? All the non-smokers came outside to talk to the smokers !! When we said hey this is a smokers area go back inside they basically told us to naff-off, so you cant win

Never heard of anyone dieing from not smoking, though.
A winter or two ago, saw a 4x4 pull up in town, windows wound up and both parents smoking, two little kids strapped in their car seats in the back!!!!!!!
Nice and safe on the road, but inhaling all the parents second hand smoke.
Go figure..........

You may chose to smoke, but if you can't do without something for a few hours; you really have a problem.

You can see where this thread went, The same direction as the global warming Al Gore scam & political correctness Sure everyone is entitled to there opinion ,If your a smoker is about common sense,If your a non smoker have equal common sense. all the fumes ,dust, burning oil & rubber etc voids the cigarettes any day as others have said. Nice to know there are grands stands at tracks tailored to give you only the fumes you have to inhale

it amuses me greatly that these same people that moan about smokers are quite happy to sit and inhale all the toxic fumes created by the vehicles during competition, let alone the dust or the noise. isnt that a oxy moron ?? Hahaha i agree with ya on that one BB ;D Just remember mate, these smokers ARE paying customers just like you.Im a non smoker also, but sheez,if the smokes too much at the time then say something to them,no??? simple aye

Im very happy to say i am an ex smoker, have been now for good while, had been for a year the previous time. Got to the track on saturday moving toward our prefered viewing place, was thinking, I hope theres no f#####g smokers next to us!!watched a guy who definately thaught he was a considerate smoker, i wanted to tell him it aint workin, he looked embarrased to have to light one up, if your reading this, get allan carrs book, easy way to stop smoking, piss easy, no hassle, then you wont be feeling like you were feeling on saturday night. stoppping smoking is so easy.

You are getting it wrong. People choose to go to watch speedway and experience the racing atmosphere.... they don't choose to go to suck someone elses cigarette smoke!

Ive experienced this at bay park. Someone was smoking near by and normally this wouldnt have concerned me, we had been sitting down since about 6.30 and a family sits next to us and the mum lights up, i asked her if she would mind going up 1 row or not smoking as it was blowing into my son, her response was to laugh at me and turn back to watch racing. We have a weather cover that keeps alot of wind\rain etc and keeps alot of fumes and dust out but when someone next to you is smoking it goes right inside.needless to say we had to move. What concerns me is she clearly has a lack of respect for my child smoking near him but her own children aswell Tell her you have a dirty habit too and spit on her smoke.

Most smokers if approached right will stop or move I've found. I never used to care about smoke blowing in my face it was just part of the atmosphere but when you have kids things change. I don't put up with it now. However If I sit next to someone and havn't notice they are smoking I'll move as they were there first. I think it's just part of being in a crowd and getting on with the masses everyone has there own ideas on how to live life.

Same can be said for drinking which is also a big cause of cancer among other things so if your hungry or thirsty during those 4 hours? if you get a drink or something to eat, does that mean you have a problem to? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I hope you lot NEVER have to bury your mother who dies of cancer caused by secondhand smoke. She never smoked a cig in her life but was married to a logger and most/nearly all smoked . So when we had meetings at our house the place stank of cigs for days. From being a solid build(not fat) to a skeleton on morphine the last 6 months of her life.

Same can be said for drinking which is also a big cause of cancer among other things yeah drinking can do that, but remember we are talking about smoking in the crowd, you can't take alcohol in with you at most if not all tracks so there's no way to me anyone should be drinking in the stands in the first place.

What gets me with most smokers is once you have finished your smoke what do you do with it, You chuck it on the bloody ground. THATS LITTERING ant it. If i take my dog for a walk and he nutss I have to scoop it up so know one walks in it. Would you like people to start chucking there rubbish in your back yard just cause they had no use for it?
