One of the ducks on the infield decided to waddle out onto the track when the Alleycats were doing their warm up laps. Stockcar vs duck and the stockcar won.

I for one was quite disgusted that the ducks were not moved along before hand. And it was actually 2 people from the infield that chased the first duck off the infield onto the track about a minute before the first race warm up laps then just left out there to be run over by the next car to come off the corner. Also the second duck was quite lucky to still be alive after a driver tried to run it over on the infield. Not a good look in front of all those people with young families.

you cant please everyone.. raining and everones grumpy if the ducks are that stupied to get chased off but still came back!!!! They didn't chase the duck off the track. They chased on to the track. it did not come back, that's where they chased it to, then left it.

it is true the duck was chased on to the track. it is also true that Phil dixion was looking a the duck before the warm up started, but turned away. i am sure he is a red cap, and has the power to hold things while the the duck was moved. i hope it wasn't his grand children sitting next to us crying ??. it is not the family entertainment that we want to see.

like i said in a earlier post the ducks were there long b4 the meeting started an couldve been caught way back then.it look like the duck that mintie caught was mother duck an the rest were her ducklings the 1 that did get chased out on to the track look to me to be injured as well.those snz officals are quick to put red lights on when there are parts off cars on the track why couldnt they hold up warm up to get the duck

Yea pretty slack stuff. -
It wasnt an accident it was just stupidity and ignorance by officials and a lack of awareness by petrol heads. It was obvious from the ducks movements it wasnt a flyer - and should have been moved at the point the track was opened.
Still I suspect next time or even tonight as the duck is most likely too have returned during the quite period ( green grass to feed on) that they will show a higher level of awareness.
