With 94 entries to the NZ's I hardly think the Superstock class is "struggling for competitors".

Thought the night on a whole was disappointing. drag racing track surface was a joke big wholes on corners from first race .big chunks off clay going over fence.i can't understand why they changed it ? sorry but all we heard was how many times the lap record was broken .Who cares ??public come and pay for action not lap records .we travel up and down country side to follow this grade and I'm now starting to wonder why .I'm thinking its time to forget about this grade and follow std stocks more ping for your buck. ;D 12 months ago people were raving about the second night of this meeting as one of the greatast nights ever - I think it's a little harsh to dump a class based on the qualifying night for that same event 1 year later. Qualifying is just that, and that's what the drivers are out to do, to be a part of tonight's action. I think a big part of last night's lack of overall impact was that the Stockcars were so tame in support. I think I'll reserve my judgement til after tonight.

No would like to think this class would have got its act together but they seem to be in self destruct mode .the class is struggling for competitors and with price tags of one car i have seen over 100,000 for car plus running cost they are going to kill there class ,not to mention the fans who will give up on them and will stay away from big super stock meets or only go on final nights.end of the day everyone is going to lose and at sum point powers to be have to make sum decisions .class in point modifyds where are they now?not many tracks have them. If speedway NZ put limits on all classes competitors would adjust and carry on with a big sigh of relief i suspect every one could compete and everyone could have the chance to be a winner and Not how big your wallet is.come on sped, way NZ save your product don't berry your heads in the sand Stay at home then mate....there might be something good on TV. After all would be disappointing to know that we've spent all day getting our cars ready just to bore you. Horse.

The first night of the NZ Super Saloons was nothing special but look at what the second night produced.
I'm sure if tonight produces the action, the dour opening night will be soon forgotten.

Regardless of snz sanctions a cheque book racer (only using the term and not referring to anyone as one) will always have an advantage.its the same with v8's midgets heck any form of motor sport. More money=more development=faster cars. Where theres a will theres a way.
On a side not i thank this class for getting out thereand putting their as you put it "100k plus vehicles" on the line. I dont get to see superstocks race often and when i do i still get that tingle down my spine. Awesome work guys and ill be watching tonight

Well said horse and i totally agree.
I know that some of us would love to have the money to race one of these machines, but i do know that they do cost alot of money to run and i certinally wouldnt be going and smashing it up every meeting if i had one..

I would of thought the sound of a top field of these beasts at the drop of the flag is worth admission price alone.... ;D And Pete46, there NEVER is two massive nights strung together.

Well said horse, i still think watchin a good feild of superstocks racing is the highlight of any meeting, even if it is mostly 'flag racing' at the end of the day, it dosent matter wat rules are in place, the people with the biggest budget are still going to find ways to go slightly faster in any class. Its just a fact of life. If you keep changing the rules to try slow people down it will just frustrate people having to make the changes and will probably kill the class, wich judging by entry numbers to champs, is still a healthy class. just my 2c

Was good to see both Collingwood and Hampton wandering the pits last night, a far cry from last year.

There are still some competitive superstocks out there that dont cost an arm and a leg. One example last night is Herbies car, not the flashest , not the fastest, but hey he did enough to get through, yes by beating a slightly broken Ngatai, but even to get to equal 6th was great. Guess sometimes driver skill still plays a part. As for flag racing, did not expect anything else really last night. Its all about getting through. Tonight may be a bit different though. 26 superstocks, cant beat that sound!
