You guys are parked up for the year anyway aren't you? As far as i know there are no mods willing to run at John Webster due to club financial restraints anyway so no point having them on program!

The info I gave you Bryan was exactly what was given to me at the committee meeting 22 March. 10-12 Sprintcars confirmed interest in running and approx 18 total expected.
I stand to be corrected but the Webster has never run Mods and always run Sprinters. The mod guys asked this year if they could run. Committee said yes. As the numbers of the "webster' classes grew and the mod numbers in Auck who are still racing dropped the class was pulled. Pit spaces are maxxed out at 105.
If we had 12-15+ mods willing to race we could probably have argued harder.

This was a meeting we were going to run only parked the car after mods were dropped Not sure what happened first so can't comment other than to say if you still want a run you can either travel to Stratty this weekend to do the KOM mod meeting as a thank you to all the Stratty guys who support our meetings, or, run at home later in the month at the KOP meeting at Waikaraka if you can get enough guys together to run the mods. At this stage I don't think they have finalised classes for this meeting. As for us we are doing Stratty as a thank you to the "S" mod guys and then pulling the pin for the year. Pleased to confirm that both 29a and 56a have also said they will attend, just a pity a few other A cars can't / won't.

Last night it was stated many times that there would be 18 sprintcars at the Webster. I hope that this is not a drever dream and it is going to happen, they are going to have to work hard to beat the awesome show the midgets put on last night.

And get a stronger fence... The fence is certainly strong enough, Lance Beale's monumental flip in turn 1 proved that, but it doesn't matter how strong they are when you fly over the top of them.......

not sure if Rodney Wood was enetered or not but now needs a motor rebuild after it went bang in Gisborne last night
stated he was just getting to the stage of not lifting his foot when the motor let go - and running tall egars as well so not over revving it either.
the speed they get in Gisborne on the banked track is just amazing

Was just thinking Barry that Sprint Cars are a lot heavier. I imagine had it been a sprintcar in that corner it might have gone horribly wrong.
The top fence at Waikaraka is a bet questionable though. Perhaps mesh there would be more appropriate.
And Allach did hit the fence, but it bent outwards. I don't know, to me it seems like cars are getting faster and faster and maybe the fences need to get higher and more durable.

I sure hope they take note, it was only luck that no one was injured or kill and address the problem before someone is. Imagine the reaction of our media and the harm it would do to our sport. Time for an up grade so to keep up with the speed of race cars in 2010.

There wont be sprinters or midgets at king of park its all our usual classes that race for that honor so you better go this week if you want to see sprintcars at Waikaraka still waiting on final confirmations but 15 are definite .
