my other idea would be that they do a knockout style comp.. you win you carry on, lose and you go into a plate comp and could finsh as high as 5th. We spent about 4 years on here trying to get the knockout format changed and finally it did. (Probably nothing to do with us!) Please don't even mention the possibility of going back to the dark old days. as mentioned just an idea.. i only express this as a fan of teams racing 'imho', points ruins the excitement factor, with not less hitting but not full on contact that we are used to.

'mutter, mutter, just never satisfyied"
untrue.. teams racing is satisfying no matter the hits or racing styles.. just used that as an example, for my statement of not being a fan of points... i am thankful that the drivers put their cars and bodies on the line for the public... always greatful and appreciated..

Yes that was the team that won the 1990 teams nat's and it was the 1st time it was 1st car across line wins for team
There was only two cars left and they were Kevin ( Free balls) Free and Jeff Miller and Kevin won the race by 1/2 a car length.

Stratford wasn't it? , when the AVD team wouldn't/couldn't make the final. Fading memory.

Stratford wasn't it? , when the AVD team wouldn't/couldn't make the final. Fading memory. Yes, the top 2 couldn't make the track for the Final (the Centra AVD team had already had 2 races on the day as they came through the all-in last chance race from memory, to find the 4th Semi Finalist), somebody else came out instead of allowing the other team to win by default (so the fans still got a race), beat them, but was obviously not declared the winner.

I may be incorrect about this quote]
The Mustangs were there last year

Just the five teams confirmed so far, have to say that's very disappointing, and a long way from the 8 I have been hearing for the past week or so. From the website: Wellington Wildcats 6w Dale Robertson 84w Mike Pye 15w Paul Fairbrother 91w Scott Miers (typo - it's in fact Scooter) 5w Allen Levien Reserve Paul Gaskin Manager Nathan Heyburn Team Tactics – Graeme Gaskin Manawatu Mustangs 62P Simon Joblin 63P Adam Joblin 64P Kerry Humphrey 65P Asher Rees 66P Jack Miers Reserve Chad Ace Manager Ian Parfitt Nelson Tigers 82N Jared Gray 83N Brett Nicholls 84N Shane Harwood 85N Dale Ewers 86N Blair Cunningham Reserve Dale McKenzie Manager Daryl Peterson Also confirmed but not named on the website are the Palmerston North Panthers and Auckland All Stars. So 5 teams only at this stage, roughly a third of what we saw front for Palmerston North a few weeks ago. How does this stack up for the future of this meeting? Will the price be dropped to reflect a program with a lot less shine to it? And why do we only have 5 teams? There are many more questions, but will we get any answers? Or can the problems be solved in time to put on a cracker meeting? Im hoping so because my birthday present is looking a lot smaller than expected

I heard 9 teams mentioned from a good source yesterday, but with Rotorua pulling out (as stated on facebook) still leaves 8 teams. What do you think a 8 team meeting is worth if 13 is $45 and a standard meeting is $20? The wall has been fixed with a large amount of concrete. Pretty sure the Busters, Hawkeyes and scrappers will be there. Guess you will have to wait a little longer.

I hear the rebels aren't going to the team nationals.
This is via Bryce Steiner FB page "mmm guess we're going to the beach for the weekend 8/9 march". I guess that's a hint that the rebels aren't going
