It was a job well done advertising the time change. Was about to leave Auckland at 515 They couldn't phone everybody personally Mike44......it was on this macgor's page on Friday morning about the Saturday night change, and numerous other places as well (including the Huntly FB page I believe, not to mention being broadcast over the PA on the Friday for those that were doing both nights, as those folk could have missed it on here due to travelling). Huntly obviously wanted people there, so I feel did their utmost to let everybody know as far in advance as possible. I'd be extremely interested to know - and I'm sure they would be too as they read these boards - what you think they could have done better. Barry B Thanks again Barry. I said this on another thread, but will add it here too... I will say I am somewhat bemused by the comments about the "lack of notice" about the start time changes... Our Facebook Page was updated with a new Timeline, immediately the decision was made on Friday morning, approx. 9am & edited/updated as the weekend progressed. MacGors was updated not long after that, at 10.23am. (And then Mike44 posts at 5.30pm on the same thread and the same page even, that he was disappointed about the "advertising of the time change... Go figure???) Our website was updated later in the day, due to technical difficulties, but still on Friday. As for info at the Track, the Commentary Team advised everyone prior to racing starting (as Barry mentioned) and must have mentioned it every 10 min's during the evening. I was very impressed at the number of times that I heard it and I hardly hear a thing due to what I have to do on a race night. Radio advertising was also changed on the Saturday (I never heard it, but was supposed to be changed) All drivers in all classes that weren't running on Friday night were contacted on Friday. What more could we possibly do? Given that there have only been 2 people grizzle, I guess we did OK? Now what about the Saloons on Saturday night... Weren't they amazing, and the only roll overs all weekend happened in the Saloons.... Value for $$$$, definitely... Congrats to the Stratford Stormers & 45M Paul Cressy. www.huntlyspeedway.co.nz

I was only able to make Friday night and can honestly say the team at Huntly Speedway did a great job of keeping people up to date via this site. I don't do Facebook and pretty much solely rely on Magors for all my information on details of meetings/weather updates etc. I can't thank the speedway community enough for the updates and information on this site. I am truly grateful for the likes of Nigel, Sonja Hickey, Murray Guy just to name a few and the mods on here who regularly post to keep the punters like me informed. Keep up the good work because there are people out here who do appreciate it. Thanks

it was a bloody good night on friday and even better on saturday, not sure it was worth $20 on both nights, but ive not actually got cause for complaint on the money front.
was good to see the historics on the friday - and the oldies on the saturday had alot of people asking "why dont they chuck those into a teams race?" personally i would love to see that happen - show the newer drivers how to really play!!
I do have to be honest though - apart from a few standout drivers the teams racing was not as good as it usually is. no rollovers etc, in honesty it looked like part failure was the main reason for alot of cars coming off the track - not true maybe, but thats how it looked.
I also have to say the saloons stole the show - a big field with some top drivers showed up and the racing was both fast and entertaining with cars getting three wide regularly, Goeff Webb put in a standout performance in the last two races after losing the right front suspension in the first race. in race two while it was as slick as anything and raining he went from the back of the pack right up to the front in less than 4 laps! finally taking second after starting last on the grid.
when that man races theres not many that have an answer for him! Ive said it before - the only way for him to get faster is to shove a rocket up the cars arse!
the only roll overs where in the saloons - including an impressive wall slide just as the race ended- over all the stock cars were a little too tame for my liking, the teams were better but not by a whole lot, the oldies were cool to see but the saloons were the money makers of the night. putting t the rest to shame - shouldve just put bumpers on them - they nearly needed them anyway!

Well I think I got my $20.00 worth on both nights. The support programme wasnt great on Friday night, but was entertaining enough, and with no big tyres on Friday the track was great, and obviously not too hard to get sorted for Saturday. I take my hat off to all teams racers. There doesn't have to be rollovers or massive hits all night to be entertaining. There were some great tactical moves made, There were some brutal races and some tactical races, a great 2 nights in my book.
I must say I was very impressed with Alistair Van Amsterdams car, that thing looks awesome even when not moving, and can can certainly give and take the hits'
