Jeez, some ugly ugly driving amongst that lot! Your right there, were there any cars left! Hopefully the level of driving will be a vast improvement this time round.

46 cars entered...That's easily the biggest field in well over 10 years.

Why would you say that ? 1. They seem to be the chassis of the moment. 2. An outsider, someone that isn't expected to win. Just like Craig Boote when he won his first title.

Entry list updated again. Does any know what car 69K Mike Wilson has? His saloon is for sale and rumour has it he's building (or built) a, let's just say, 'Doing a Blondie and or typical Mike', something unique!

I wouldnt under estimate this guy in any championship meeting either, and on his visit to Welly earlier this season he admitted he really likes the track and cant wait to get back there This photo just proves today's cars are ugly straight wedge's when you compare it to the cars in the highlights video from 2000-01

Couldn't agree more. Its approx. $1200 for a fibreglass body, why use a shoebox/doorstop?

Start enjoying it. Doesnt take long for the moaning & whinging about the current body shapes to start from the same people. Get over it guys it's time to move forward rather than being stuck in the past. It's looking good with 46 cars entered this year & Super saloons have never been better with the quality of racing they put on.

Doesn't take long for the "get over its' to come out..............
Get over it, some like the old style still, others like the advanced engineering in the new shape.
Me. old skool is cool.

Who cares what they look like! Back in the day the various body shapes were cool for the time. Today they are what they are. I agree that generally speaking the body shapes are starting to look one and the same, however they do have a certain ballsy look that I quite like and the grids are generally quite colourful. And the quality of racing is sensational. I am excited by the entry for the NZ title in Wellington. Can anybody truly decide the final 20 out of the 46 entries? Buggered if I can! I look forward to the day when everyone on here can just enjoy the show for what it is Anthony

Further to my last post, what format is being used on finals night? 3 heats with accumulated points, or 3 heats deciding grid for 1 winner takes all race?

Body shapes whether car or human they all cost money ,with some faster than others ,and also loose there appeal once the lipstick and powder disappears

Anthony The proposed format is 3 20 lap heat for the 20 qualifiers for points. The format for the 21NZ Cup for non qualifiers is 2 reverse grids heats for position in the one race final for the twenty highest points scorers.

In recent years I've seen more two lane racing than I ever have in the supers. Lots of great passes without having to wait for someone to make a mistake to do a pass.
