In recent years I've seen more two lane racing than I ever have in the supers. Lots of great passes without having to wait for someone to make a mistake to do a pass. Last year for the Wellington round of the BK SSCAR series the track preparation and consistency throughout the meeting proved to be one of the best Meetings of the series and the track crew deserved the utmost praise. If the track preparation is as good ,you will witness the ultimate in Super Saloon wheel to wheel racing. For those that enjoy and appreciate the level that this class has risen to will find the trip well worth the journey from where ever.

Looking forward to see who wins really keen to see how blondie goes and also how mark Osbourne gets on....... With this format the pressure will be on right from the start of the first finals heat with no room being given or asked and if history tells us anything there is likely to be many cases of bad luck for drivers as the 60 laps unfold but none if that should detract from the skill of the eventual winner who will be that person that drove thru traffic, pass the most cars and keep his wheels on........... Best quote for the correct mindset for this type of racing came From super saloon champion Jeff James " controlled Agression " Is what's needed ......... If I had a car I'd love to throw my hat in the ring. ....good luck to all of you

Blondie wont be getting a lot of practice as his own club ltd saloons wont allow his to run off the rear.

Blondie wont be getting a lot of practice as his own club ltd saloons wont allow his to run off the rear. Unfortunately some in the saloon class are becoming increasingly precious beyond what's good for the class! In this case, one super off the rear and 'not actually racing' was likely a call that could have been made by the promotion, COC, Chief Steward. I'm sure Bernie would welcome Blondie at Baypark on the 29th December, we'll even throw in the accommodation!

If it is stratford as a club that is stopping him from running, then all I can say is TAKE THE S off. Can just hear them if he happens to win the NZ. He will be their hero. And Im from Stratty by the way. I think its nuts. Wheres he suppose to get all his set up close. Good Luck Blondie Im right behind you.

So if you have to have driven at 3 meetings prior to a NZ title , in the class that you wish to participate in does that mean you can drive that race car in the same class, another class, or just tootle around on your own, not sure what the intent of the rule really means? Maybe someone with a rule book can clarify.

Blondie stated he is running on a slick budget being a pentioner. Traveling out of town every week is probably a bid more than his budget. I read somewhere someone would be happy to pay him travel money to go get some seat time at another track, who ever that was please do so, so many people want to see this legend have a diecent crack at the nz title. Good luck blondie I hope you make your statement.

Heard it was one objection from one driver that put a stop to blondies night? That's all it takes, the club could have left him have a run on his own if they were of a mind to, or as I said before a short trip to welly would have killed a couple of birds with one hand in the bush..... Or something like that.

Blondie is no spectator...... there would have been a reason why he was there, and why he didn't have the car.

Blondie is no spectator...... there would have been a reason why he was there, and why he didn't have the car. if it was me - I would be watching the top drivers in each class to see what lines they are using. add in a bit of setup and he may just have learnt the track without having to drag his car there and show his ability etc...

With super saloons being as competitive as it has been for about 5 seasons it will be interesting what the tab odds are. 5 that in my opiniom you cant count out for a top 3 finish Steve flynn mark osborne Brent emmerson martin halcrow blondie chamberlain
But there is another dozen or so who will be there or there abouts. Taylor, harding, grant flynn, jennings to name a few.
I just hope who ever wins does it in the shed and on the track. Not in the board room/office.

If the track is anything like it was last night, those on the podium will be those who can work the high line well I think. 3 wide is definitely possible!
