That is one COOL looking race car. A credit to the Jenning race team. A shame that a certain other pensioners race car doesn't have the same pride and presentation. All the best with the new beast. As another near pensioner who races, perhaps, like myself, the pensioner you refer to doesn't have the 80 - $100k to invest / borrow in a car that might survive 5 secs or 5 laps, choosing to get out their any way he can.
As with the saloon class, these new breed cars come with a very heavy price tag with the performance to match. Let's hope it is sustainable for our sport.
Hmmm,I think they were talking of you Murray? ??

and heres one of the cars that eventually got banned because it didnt look like the car it was nominated to be... oh and thats apparently a corvette, one of those cars that dont have a straight panel on it, much like all these new supersaloons - corvettes have absolutely no straight panels anywhere... even the arse end is curved. funny how people had to obey the rules back then, but can ignore them and force a rule change these days isnt it? - thats another topic though.

Stand on the front of the shoe box and they would be close.............
I'm with Rammer, but I prefer old skool.
Rhody's one takes the cake.

its a funny thing that whole "this is the way forward" line, especially since the people who say it most cant put a specific reason on why the cheap way out is the best for the biggest large budget class in the country... I wouldve thought they would encourage the opposite really. I can and I dont like the bloody things. but just so you guys understand why I dont think they should look like rolling doorstops... Thats the same size as a hypermac - Im not sure if it is one or not though, would nearly be a straight swap. and that over exaggerration of a corvette is insanely cool - why couldnt the supers go this way instead of looking like block with the end cut on an angle? these two prove you can have the front air dam they all seem to want and yet look like real cars!! incidentally that one is also the same size as a hypermac, still dont know if it is one though. The Hypermac chassis are great, but the shape of the bodies people are putting on them are leaving a fair number of people wondering what they are meant to be, a few stickers and four holes cut into the back arent enough in my book.

Time for all this negative niggle to stop.Putting a lock on this tread won't solve the problem. These same posters say the same negative things on many threads. Not only are they lowering the tone of This board, they fail to understand that it is a privilege to be allowed to post comments on here and continuously degrading the Super Saloon class , car builders and competitors is wearing a bit thin. Not every one will agree where any class may be at, but all the time nitpicking by the same people whom most probably have no interest in the class serves no useful purpose for the image of Speedway. All the best Lance you have contributed s o much to Speedway, glad to see you behind the wheel of a precision and most popular racecar.(Hypermac) And also the bangers are not my cup of tea, but I totally admire the engineering skills and the crews who put these together, and tell me what model car they represent. (not a criticism)

Someone asked for pictures of the new car, and we put some up as soon as we could so you could see it.
That wasn't an invitation for Statler & Waldorf to get on their bikes again about the shape of the new generation race cars.
The team has put a lot of work into the car and its presentation - not just for our own satisfaction, but to contribute to the overall presentation of the sport.
Interestingly elsewhere on the net positive comments outrank negative ones by about 800 (and counting) to 1. We'll take that.

I agree with TrevG , it's time to stop bleating on about the appearance of the current crop of Super Saloons . They are what they are and the groaning is getting tiresome. If you don't like them don't watch them. Must admit I haven't gone out of my way to watch them for a couple of years now but I'm sure there are plenty that appreciate the show they put on.
Any further posts about their appearance will be removed , the posts in this thread are hardly fair on a long time well respected driver who is only putting himself into a similar package as those that are doing the winning.
