Tyler Walker fb page
Well im totally gutted i wont be racing this year at the New Zealand Stockcar Teams Champs
After being asked by Crushers because they were short 2 cars then being told the Stormers were short a car i offered myself to the Stormers only to be told there’s no way im getting put in so i then went into the Crushers. I rung Stratfords president to see if i can get a transfer he said should be ok will just put it through committee so they know and its not just him saying (which it didn’t even need to go through the committee) so i wrote a letter explaining and put the dates i would get a transfer there and back so i would not miss any stratford meetings i thought sweet its all go! Got the body brought up from the South Island entry form Christchurch member ship sorted everything and we were all 100% ready for New Zealand Stockcar teams! Only to be sent an email yesterday morning to say Stratford committee had a vote and they will not be giving me a transfer. They don’t want me but obviously don’t want anyone else to have me either which to say the least is pretty poor and the amount of people from stratford who thought it shouldn’t be a problem as well was alot!
Sorry to all the Canturbury Crushers team and the Woodford Glen Club for the muck around! Im just a kid that wants to go racing have some fun and wreck some gear but apparently im not aloud to race my own car. Good Luck to ALL teams competing this year! Should be one hell of a event
Oh and bring on the Taranaki Stockcar Champs this weekend its going to be a goodie!!!

Think you will find he race's to prove the performance of what he builds to get the work thou! I would refer to him as a pro racer-builder just like FWJ. Spade is a Spade. He was a racer before he was a car builder.....that just sort of grew. I suspect he races because he wants to, and provng the performance is a by product of that. Spade's a great big shovel!! Barry B Barry I'm pretty sure most people see Peter Rees as a Pro at his chosen game-sport-hobby-job what ever you want to call it. Just a few will be scratching their heads at the moment. and here I was thinking a shovel was just a big spade.

As an Alleycats fan I'm excited to see the name Carl Hodge in the team. However I can't work out how he is eligible to compete in this event.
Unlike all other teams events this event is a Speedway New Zealand allocated title, in this case a New Zealand championship. To be eligible to compete in an allocated title (Grand Prix's excepted) the following criteria applies:
M4-7 Specific Additional entry criteria M4-7-1 North Island, South Island and New Zealand Championships: (a) New Zealand Residents (i) must have raced in that class for a minimum of three meetings in the current season, or (ii) have raced in that class for a minimum of three meetings in the previous season and a minimum of one meeting in the current season.
Maybe he has but I don't recall Carl racing in the Stockcar class this season or last.
Am I right in saying he is not eligible to compete in this event or am I missing something in the rulebook?

Percy is that also the case with Jamie Ferguson? I heard Carl was driving Craig Chatfield's car? Jamie drove a Stockcar at the Auckland Champs and is also driving this Saturday night at the Northern Stockcar Rumble so I'd say he'll be ok to do 3 meetings by Feb 27. I'll also note that it is possible for Carl to do his 3 meetings before the NZ Stockcar Teams even assuming he has done none to date. He'll need to do this Saturday and next plus a trip to Wanganui (assuming they are running Stockcars) on Sunday 22nd! Carl is a member of this board, hopefully he can clear things up regarding his eligibility for this event when/if he see's this thread.

Cheers for that Percy. It would be good to see Jamie back in the Allstars mix at some stage and I'm sure Carl will have his eligibility for Rotorua covered.

Just my opinion, But the Stockcar Teams Champs is not an "Allocated" championship (it is hosted by the winning team) and could therefore be exempt from meeting the criteria in a similar way that the Grand Prix is. No where in the Teams Racing Rules is there any mention of anything that would exclude Carl or Jamie from entering.

That's great to hear. I'll make a mental note to discuss it with Tim next time I bump into him because it's an area where the rule book isn't clear.

I guess you could pedantically argue that it is allocated to the winner of the previous event, rather than a particular track, but seems the boss has spoken so I guess it doesn't really matter

And to throw the proverbial spanner in there, if it is now not known as an allocated title, do the ring-ins really need to transfer their memberships to participate? #justasking
