100% scrapper..BUT..Scrappers actually need to learn to have contact @ home.no disresprect but, timing etc is a huge part of teams..need to get some Mungrul @ home or wont improve.if I had a car id give it 2 Gary W. imtimadation is 50% of teams,.118r waz past 90 degrees wen hit in RR,,nothing done bout it,,is super teams diff to stockcar rules.IE, wen two cars are stuck,u get a chance to get out from beneath other vechile ..not both taken in field.. We didn't really see the hit that got Steiny on the live stream but if he was positioned as you say the hit can still be legal as he could have reversed in race direction and attacked with his rear bumper. Thus he was in an attacking position and as such can be attacked. It's not a rule I like at all. Stationary shouldn't be attacked and stationary cars shouldn't attack is my opinion.

A question to provoke thought;
is it correct that the Nelson car was removed for destroyed bonnet?
Seems weird that cars have other bits hanging off, potentially at a greater risk, than a damaged bonnet, yet they can stay on
And also if the Reds are brought on for cars up the wall, and they give the chance to break apart, why do both cars stay on? Isn't the walled car the cause of the stoppage?

R12-4-59 If the bonnet is removed, the vehicle will be removed by the Referee.
R12-4-61 If a vehicle becomes unsafe in any other way during the race it will be removed by the Referee.
The bonnet one is straightforward, the officials have no choice. In terms of a car having "bits hanging off" it's up to the officials to determine if the vehicle is "unsafe".
In which incident did the walled car stay on the track?

Thanks Percy!
The 55gb car walled in turn 3
The bonnet thing I'm not so sure on. The 54v machine had barwork bouncing on the track protruding from rear of car. Surely that's more dangerous than no bonnet? Or I remember in past wanganui car cruising on 3 wheels?
I was wondering if that's inline with normal SNZ rules or teams ethics?
Has anyone heard how Lala & Steiny are on a side note?

My understanding of the missing bonnet is a safety issue in the event of an engine fire there is nothing to stop the flames hitting the driver in the face. Definitely a SNZ rule as you'll see it on any normal night The bar hanging off the warriors car was checked during a stoppage for someone else but I was surprised it was allowed to stay on as well

Couple of things from last night? Alec Wilson was driving hemis car in the repocharge. And why was in the R v W after Steiners massice shunt which was a little amatuer from the W perspective was a W car push started then allowed to continue?

Unsure but maybe he stalled it when asked to reverse out once Bryce S car was lifted up. Which in that case I think is good. If you have been asked to do something from the ref and stall but can't restart u should be aloud help. Because if the ref didn't ask he may not have had issues. That's in regards if that did happen. In this case he couldnt put the hammer down and get out because injured driver was involved

If that is the case, I have no problem with him being allowed a push start if he couldn't fire up on his own.

Just a thought. A couple of notable teams racers chose not to compete this weekend. But was there actually so much action on the track last night that they weren't really missed?

The wellington driver involved (I believe it was 52w, Paul Fairbrother) was excluded from the results after the race for outside assistance.
