Was fabulous seeing all these guys out there racing again, showing that once a good driver, always a good driver. These old buggers weren't hanging around and looked like they had been doing it all season and meant business (ask Brian Musgrove about the hit from The General). Thanks to Jake Baker and all those who helped him pull it together, thanks to all the owners who provided cars, and thanks to all the drivers who made it more than just parade laps of retired gentlemen. I look forward to the next running of this event.

I was 13 years old in 1977 and Dave Evans wasn't just a Legend to me and my mates - he was God. We used to get the Rutherford or Madge bus over to Palmy from Feilding every Saturday night to sit in the old wooden grandstand and we were always in awe of his aggressive ability - it was the only thing we'd talk about at school till the next Saturday night - that might explain my poor marks in arithmetic. Last night he confirmed that "form is temporary - class is permanent.." Another awesome Saturday night out in Palmy. picture uploadcapture screenupload gifThis guy was also one of our Saturday night hero's. Legend. photo hostingI'm a bit behind in posting my photo's (Harrisville Winged Thunder 6, the final meeting at Wanganui, the Palmy Derby Teams & Manawatu Street Stock Champs, and of course - last night..) but I'll get there over the next week or so. image hostimage sharing

Good crowd on a cool night, better than recent meetings. The track took a bit of a hammering with the recent rain and diminished the spectacle of some races despite the best efforts of the track crew. You can see a very small portion of the crowd in this shot. image upload no resizeThe track condition didn't seem to bother Russell Joblin image sharing sitesWho else wears a peak on there helmet? not many.. if any.. jpg imagesTony McLanachan imgupload
