Yes, the SNZ Rule Book only allows for two-day meetings. This may one day need a variation for Stockcars only. No other class needs more than two days to fairly decide a champion. Barry B stockcar teams as well, if every track puts up a team hell would break lose. Rotorua managed just fine with a 14-team format last year. I suspect you're unlikely to ever get more than that, as Rosebank, Western Springs, Moore Park, Ruapuna, Oreti Park and the likes are unlikely to be entering a team anytime soon. Barry B

Barry B if it was in the south island im sure there would be a few more teams. I doubt it, personally. I'm sure some tracks in the top half of the North Island would probably opt out. Even when it was in Welly I think interest dropped down to about 8 teams in the end? The resurgance of interest came once it was out of the Palmy/Welly region and into Rotorua. 2k's was the only NI track without a team entered. You tell me why? If it were to be held in the SI, well; ESS, Nelson, ChCh and GM were all in Rotorua anyway, so your "few more teams" would come from where? Invecargill I'd suggest as likely, but I'm not sure any others than maybe, perhaps, Westport would look at it? Your only other possibiilty is, I think, Dunedin. I don't think any other tracks in the SI contract Stockcars? My guess is, if it were to be held in the SI, a maxium of 10 teams would front? Barry B

M3-10 Practices
M3-10-1 Each track must have at least three practice sessions prior to the commencement of its official season.
M3-10-2 Approved First Aid coverage must be provided.
M3-10-3 The SNZ Steward must be present.
M3-10-4 Admission fees cannot be charged. M3-10-5 No racing can occur under a practice permit.
That's all I can find in the rule book but that isn't to mean there isn't some way around charging. Personally I gave up attending practices years ago so either way it doesn't worry me.
I would guess if you call it a practice meeting and pay the full meeting fee to SNZ then you can charge the punters that show up.

Barry B A couple of those tracks - namely Nelson and Chch would possibly be able to field 2, if not 3 teams each. Nelson recently had the Thunder and a team called Lightning racing at the Stockcar Teams Brawl... Most of the Westport boys seem to fill gaps in other SI teams.

I don't wanna get off topic but if they could field two or more teams that would be awesome they could dress them in mini skirts, braid their hair and give them Ra-Ra pom poms cause cheerleading is all that any 2 nd or 3 rd teams would be able to do

How are they deciding who races in the consultation races? There could easily be 40-50 cars still able to race after filling in the three tiers.

With the $1000 most exciting hit bonus, would this be someone hung in the fence one night 1/Lower tiers or a 1NZ shoe in being stopped last lap of the last heat? Thoughts?
BTW who judges that?
