Given there are images of Sam's car online copping a pretty sizeable shunt into the wall, I'd suggest that they're not PVC, as they seems to be holding up pretty well. Or is that comment just designed to agitate?
There's plenty of conjecture, but no real confirmation on: A. What they're constructed from B. What's their purpose C. Whether he was asked to remove them or be DQ'd - or is that just third-hand hearsay from someone who knows someone's brother and heard it in passing at the pub?
Appears to me there could be some really relevant benefits to running highbars....but also some potential pitfalls in certain situations.
What's the official word? There's always someone here in the know who is prepared to highlight the relevant rulebook clause.

They are made from polyvinyl chloride And Yes he was told if he didnt remove them he wouldnt be aloud back out on the track

Hi-bars if built right could have a significant advantage. As you could then have a lighter chassis using the hi-bars to then strengthen and stop twist in the chassis much like midgets and sprintcars.

Think that could be behind rees theroy with the bars going right up over the bonnet The issue is where the bars are part of the roof it can potentially drive the cage backwards, also with the one peice cage bars theres the issue with if the bars get hit will be deamed to be roll cage damage and will have to go the infield, that is why humpries changed his and made it bolt on as it becomes an add on and removes it for teams racing. now they are all plastic i believe
