Not sure if the format could have been tweaked, but 8 car heats is a disgrace. Pretty sure the entry form didn't say there will be 6 groups. Problem being, lack of numbers means larger groups would lead to more padding of the already underwhelming support classes. I will suggest that all the heat racing will only determine the start spot for a one race final, and all cars that would be able to start the final will. Only need to drop 5 cars. Natural attrition will do that.
When I saw Cromwell had this meet I was going to go, as it is a great track. Change of jobs means I have no leave so couldn't go. Seriously not bothered now. It will be a two day meet for one decent race.
I am very over the brigade that suggests the format allows the cream to rise to the top. The cream is already at the top and only if it turns sour it will drop to the bottom.

9W Mark Pitcher did the time trail but dropped 2 valves and is now out. Good track even though dusty but still some good passing.92m Hayward used the high line and looked good. Osborne cut a front tyre and took out Ray Stewart. Good live streaming.

May still stream it but won’t be a definite Interesting to see what Woodford Glen will do with the Grand Prix format. I can’t go on the Friday and was gutted about that

The drivers might like this format , but as a spectator I hate it, there is no point to going night 1 as there is no result at the end of it

But yes, night 1 qualifying at least means you're watching something with a result, and night 2 is almost like a seperate meeting. If one only turns up for night 2 it's like arriving for dinner half way through the meal and/or conversation. Barry B

Can someone list the cars that ARE NOT running the 4 Bar setup. Anthony Not 100% sure, but guessing 34t, 69t, 77t, 27c, 54c, 86c, 4d, 59d, 861d, 26e, 8k, 92m, 32p. Unsure on 6e 1NZ, 3nz, 6c, 58c are all the Cowling cars so they will be 4 bar, and think the Stealths are as well which are 16c 19c 49c. 21n changed to 4 in the off season and has been struggling with it Unsure what the new Waddell car is

I think 18M is 4 Bar...and I guess 9W is as well. I agree there are some ungainly looking cars circulating now...but there are some good looking ones as well. Anthony

58c wins his 2nd of the night from grid 6
He was my pick pre meeting and I would love to see him bring home that 1NZ, would be thoroughly deserved

18M is the ex Mick Quin Barry Wright built car. He debuted a new machine about a month ago He was only in the 81M Hypermac/Phantom car briefly after hurting the engine in the 18M Barry Wright car at the North Island Champs. Now back campaigning the 18M
