Thats a grim thought, the way this track serves it up to tyres , which is unfair to this particular club as they have been pretty proactive trying to front foot the clumps of mud Know of a Stratford driver not traveling to this because of tire problems there the last couple of years. . Then I guess said driver won’t bother racing any more? Doesn’t matter if it’s 240s or a club night at your local the rules still in place

Rotorua forecast has showers possible tomorrow between 9 and 5 pm then clear. Sat showers possible between 9 and 11 am then clear. I'll ask the chief. Macgor - what's it's going to do?

Apparently the qualifying has been altered and will instead just be run over 2 heats instead of the usual 3

I was thinking that must have been the case. Even still, with a 4pm start it will be a very ambitious timeframe for a meeting and a half.
Is the team racing also shelved?

Not a fan of the new format why dont they start earlier and why dont they shortnen the consulation and tiers instead of upsetting the qualifying format?? They are only running 2 heats qualifying and no repocharge and run offs sorted by lap times, this Hasnt been thought out very well at all

I like the new format. It has obviously taken into account the views of the drivers - 2 heats to qualify then onto the finals keeps the cars and drivers fresh. It appears the later start is for track preparation. Perhaps lessons learned from the recent NZ Superstocks where there wasn't enough time to get the track up to scratch? Let's have the track prepared well and the drivers looked after. Well done I say.

certainly not ideal. Really not sure of the right way to do it. The Rotorua is one of the best around. A bit of darned if you do or darned if you don't.
I do think an earlier start is required (unsure if they can). Unlike HB there wont be alot of time between part 1 and 2.
Not a fan of the run it all in one day scenario, but looking at the forecast, not much of an option. To be fair tomorrow is not looking great either.

Its already bloody hard to qualify now its even more cut throat
Id be pissed off if i traveled the length of the country to race in this event to have the format that you signed up to chopped and changed so poorly feel sorry for the guys getting dished up 2 middle grid draws
Qualifying after all is why you came there and everyone deserves a fair chance and its first big main part of the weekend for the drivers anything after you dont qualify is only bonus
The final heat of finals isnt going to be run any earlier in the night no matter the format you run
