There will be some wet people at the track, those who aren't in the grandstand. I can't imagine many had umbrella's. We weren't stupid we took ours in 🤣🤣

I think the fairest way would be dont give the teams that raced last night warm up laps today

I didn’t get the stream last night so was just going off updates here thank you to all that post them it is much appreciated. Was there a reason 272 didn’t run for Auckland when the other car broke in the warmup? I did I miss something? ( just watched petrolfumes vid ) Cheers

I also thought, when the big storm hit, that Malcolm Sines was in his element doing continuous and continual in-depth interviews with whoever was around whilst dodging graders and trucks and all sorts of other things, filling in the hours or so brilliantly. That was sitting in the dry warmth of my lounge. Whether those on track that go rained on were even listening I'm unsure, but for VideoHub viewers it was really good entertainment. Those such interviews never take place during a normal meeting due to time constraints between races, but it was great when the unexpected happens, like it did tonight, to have somebody like Mal on hand to fill the void. . Barry B Totally agree. We had to do something for the thousands still sitting there patiently. Frankie Jr is always great to talk to and Russell the Odsal Promoter gave some good insights also. I had people line up but Mals American interview was so good I kept listening lol.

Would think it is a fairly decent advantage for the teams who have already raced, have all day today to work on any issues with their cars for heat 2, compared to the teams who need to do 2 races tonight Yes, i agree but it is unavoidable. while PN has a good setup for spectators we pay for that by being central and having noise control limits. They CANNOT race past 10.30pm or face losing everything!!!!! I would wonder maybe a fairer situation would be maybe to disolve the results and re run the races....... Don,t think council will allow it to be taken away, to much of a commodity, take this weekend for instance, another nite, more revenue for Palmerston North city.

I think it's as fair as can be under the circumstances. Would be more unfair to start from the beginning again and re-race the 4 races that have already been raced. Barry B

No cars moved when the green flag dropped then 272 moved off, only to be slammed in the left front by Peter Rees and parked in the wall. Ol' Seth doesn't have much luck at Teams Champs

That was a good interview you had with the Odsal promoter to Mike, because you'd been to his track before. 1990 was it? I was in the UK in 1989 for the F1 Stockcars and I think we missed Bradford. Went to Sheffield Stadium, and Coventry, as well as some weird places like Skegness and Sthingyhorpe but people said Odsal was pretty good. Barry B

I think the fairest way would be dont give the teams that raced last night warm up laps today I tend to agree, the good thing is 6/8 teams who raced last night, are racing another team that also raced last night, so no advantage or disadvantage either way. Race 7 and 11 are the other 2 races. Race 11 would be the tricky one where if they gave Stratford laps, it may be a small advantage over a team that had only raced earlier in the night on a presumably different and wetter track. But anyways I’m sure all the team managers will sort this out before the meeting 😂

Just thinking about the decision from Bruce R to cancel last nights meeting due to Council regulation. It was a surprise as I assumed there would be a waiver for special occasions eg Teams. Considering the income generated by speedway especially the teams event, I assumed there would be some flexibility however it doesn't appear to be a speedway friendly council.

I don't really think there's anyway you can argue that it is over priced at $65 a night for the live stream. Has it gone up over the years? Most definitely, but so has pretty much every single product in NZ. at sixty five bucks it a rip off. There's no BS argument over bums on seats when Palmy is chocka block every year. This is just a greedy money grab. There's no way it's sixty five bucks worth. I paid less than that for seven hours of highest level professional boxing from one of the arab states not long ago. Not long before or after I paid 1.5 times regular ticket price to watch a meeting from welly town from my place in Waikato.

There used to be a bit of leniency but there may be none now. Especially as they had so many races still to do it really would have been a late one. Slower thus longer races on a damp track too. But then being a pensioner l don't care which day they race Barry B

If council allowed it to continue passed 10.30pm then the rate payers would suffer as the council would be fined. As it stands the community is now going to benefit more as it's effectively being held over 3 nights of racing. It's also interesting to see that there was no official rainout date for such a big 2 day meeting on the PN speedway calendar
