Haha, yeah shows the depth of great Palmy drivers that can help these other clubs form a team 😉 You mean the Palmy drivers that are competiing for other teams with outside drivers driving for the Panthers/Mustangs. Try not to think about it too much. You'll get dizzy going in circles thinking about it all Higgins. W <<<<==== They came from and went went thataway, and also thataway ====>>>> E And from the North, and the South. And they also went North, and also South. Barry B

As with what usually happens on final night is the extra palmy cars turn up for consulations with the others..if people stay of course but as an extra anything less than stockcars added would be crazy..(ministocks at a teams meeting lol, imagine it.) Or could even throw in some sidecars instead, I mean palmy has like 8 to 12 of them.. It is a holiday the nxt day, I wouldn't gripe at a bit of a extra bang for my buck. Speaking of bangs, wasn't that for lighting way better than the fireworks they would've put on.

Also tomorrow will be a shorter meeting as it’s a continuation from tonight’s, so race 5 will be first up, plus the super saloons are on Sunday, not Monday, as bobby pearce heads home Monday to America. Ah, okay. I wonder what they'll fill the gaps with on Monday then. If the Super Saloon have 3 or 4 races tomorrow night that makes a full meeting, as we've only lost 4 teams races. But Monday will looking a little light. Barry B Yeah good question, hopefully Bruce puts up a bit more $$$ and invites the super saloons back Monday night for another “cash race” . Even a traditional 3 heat finals for a change, im sure with Tuesday holiday, a few might stick around, or drive home after the meeting Monday night. I also hope they learnt off last season, and do the tier 1 semi finals first, that way the gap between semis and final will be larger, and in the event of rain coming, they can bring it forward while still having a half decent gap.

What we have seen so far (and the points are unofficial of both the stream and as posted here, so please correct me if in points are wrong) and what happens next with those 8 teams that have already had one race)
Rotorua Rebels 120 points; Okay win but did the race winner lose an engine after taking the flag? Hopefully, not, but take on Team GB in second qualifier in what could be a winner-take-all race
Manawatu Mustangs 75 points; Unfortunately lost their first heat which did look winnable on paper. Now need to annihilate the HB Hawkeyes to be any real chance of progressing to Night 2.
Team Great Britain 165 points; Good opening heat win but that was over the lowly-ranked, inexperienced and returning Huntly squad. Face the Rebels in what could be a winner-take-all clash
Waikato Wanderers 20 points; Punished by the Poms, but great to see Waikato back. Will probably be punished again by a rejuvenated Auckland squad in heat 2 looking to make the Top 4
Auckland All Stars 110 points;Everything went against Auckland in this race and they still won it, and while they only accumulated 110 points they could score a maximum against Huntly.
Gisborne Gladiators 85 points; How did they ever get blocked out of a 1/2/3 against the All Stars? A narrow loss is still a loss, and now they face the Busters needing to win 185-0 to progress
Stratford Scrappers 120 points; Stratford look adequate against the Busters, who lost a leading car rolling over a team mate. Will need a massive improvement to match the Panthers next up.
Baypark Busters 75 points; Could they have beaten the Scrappers with luck on their side? Regardless, they face a desperate Gisborne side next, where only a massive win for either side will do.

I also thought, when the big storm hit, that Malcolm Sines was in his element doing continuous and continual in-depth interviews with whoever was around whilst dodging graders and trucks and all sorts of other things, filling in the hours or so brilliantly. That was sitting in the dry warmth of my lounge. Whether those on track that go rained on were even listening I'm unsure, but for VideoHub viewers it was really good entertainment. Those such interviews never take place during a normal meeting due to time constraints between races, but it was great when the unexpected happens, like it did tonight, to have somebody like Mal on hand to fill the void. .

Barry B We did get to hear a bit of the interviews on the big screen at the track over the sound of the trucks/graders going around and general conversations happening... The sound in the grandstand can bounce around lol It was quite good to hear from the over seas drivers and get their opinions on the differences etc.

How was 9g able to continue after moving on the Reds? I assume he couldnt see that the red was on when parked in the wall but it is up to the referee to put them back to the correct spot before it goes green, cannot be penalised for it The red light was for the drive shaft on the track

I assume he couldnt see that the red was on when parked in the wall but it is up to the referee to put them back to the correct spot before it goes green, cannot be penalised for it The red light was for the drive shaft on the track While the reds have been upgraded for daylight they are still hard to see from inside the cars especially from his angle he was on facing the infield. Not being a giants fan (lol) i would have LOVED him to be DQ'd but also would have found that a harse call by the ref's. I was also sitting next to my niece who is a avid giants supporter, was wearing her panthers top but had to put her giants hoodie on for the race to show her support (lol) but she was actually saying to take him off to not open up any chance of protest afterwards.... however it was a legitimate issue of not seeing reds. we had someone from the group next door then saying for him to move himself back while the reds were and we looked at him and said are u crazy, he moves now hes realized it reds and he WOULD be dq'd, he now has to wait for the refs to put him back where he was when the reds went on or hes on the grass!! Got to love some spectators!!

Would think it is a fairly decent advantage for the teams who have already raced, have all day today to work on any issues with their cars for heat 2, compared to the teams who need to do 2 races tonight

How was 9g able to continue after moving on the Reds? It might have helped the Giants if he was taken off. He totally misread the race and left Pete isolated slowing down and trying to stop Chatfield when shadowing Pete perfectly. Codi Chatfield was outstanding in getting rid of Hamilton twice, ran a great race and probably already has at least one hand on the rookie trophy. Have to say the Scrappers have a huge advantage tonight they can hopefully make the most of. Of the 8 teams who raced last night, they are the only ones who race a team (Panthers) that will have to race beforehand. 6 of the teams race each other and the Mustangs will race the Hawkeyes. The Panthers vs Kings will be huge and the Panthers could carry a fair bit of damage into a race against a fresh Scrappers team, who will know they only need to put in 1 big race tonight to possibly make the semis. I'm surprised it's actually not a full re-run of the meeting to have a level playing field, which would be totally unfair on the four teams who won last night obviously. After the four races last night, the Rebels vs GB race is shaping up to finalise 1 semi final spot & Auckland should beat Waikato, so it's likely 2 of the top 4 will come from those 2 races. A fresh Scrappers team have a great opportunity against the Panthers, who could be fighting for 1 semifinal spot depending on the result against the Kings.

They CANNOT race past 10.30pm or face losing everything!!!!! I would wonder maybe a fairer situation would be maybe to disolve the results and re run the races.......

Yep, guess all you could do, and it probably isn’t feasible at all, would be the teams that have already raced aren’t allowed to work on their cars again until the meeting resumes tonight. Could only really enforce that though by cars having to be left at the track which causes some headaches

It will be interesting to see if the teams who raced last night get their 4 warmup laps. Technically it's a new meeting and the tracks been reprepaired so they should get a run as usual to test cars. If they decided to re run those races, the 1030pm curfew then becomes a real issue with the Super Saloons being added, plus the 45 minute parade. I got a feeling the Super Saloons seemed of some real importance to run tonight when Puk mentioned one of the USA drivers leaves tomorrow. I don't think it's fair to dissolve those first 4 results, as it's not those teams at fault that the weather came in. The PN Promotion had a chance to call last nights meeting off at any stage throughout the day, but chose to proceed with even Puk saying he was constantly looking at the weather apps knowing it was likely to rain as it did. Why should those 4 winning teams be penalised for a decision the Promotors made? It would also be costly to all 8 teams/drivers to repair damage, that in theory would amount to nothing if the results were dissolved. Someone has to pay for the repairs and the teams don't expect to race for nothing to put the entertainment on.
