Agree Wildcat. It's an anomaly designed to keep the interest alive for the lower teams to podium 3rd.

That's a weird way to sort minor placings, so tough on Pumas & darn lucky for the Stormers! Even the ENZED Superstock Teams is fairer than this. Pumas lose the toss of a coin to finish 4th in qualifying and end up in a race for 6th! Oh, here we go every time there's this draw! Winners of the semis go to the final The highest losing semi goes to 3v4 Highest winning bottom 4 The lowest losing semi goes 5v6 lowest winning bottom 4 7v8 is bottom 4 losing semis They all know this going into the racing. Get over it.

The two Tier 1 semi-final losers race the two Tier 2 semi-final winners? And who meets who based on points? Barry B

Why is it that a team finishing 8th on points, & that after a coin toss is in a podium race??? Does not happen at ENZED's Barry

Stormers raced for 3rd because they finished with more points than the other tier 2 winner. What is not fair about that. Stormers 1st 2nd 3rd Auckland 1st and 3rd
Thats why they got to race for 3rd Auckland raced for 5th
EASY
Same system for the 1st tier Losers

Just heard commentator say "Whanganui have never won the NZ Stockcar teams". Wow! That's hard to believe.

Just heard commentator say "Whanganui have never won the NZ Stockcar teams". Wow! That's hard to believe. I'm sure Whanganui have never won - they don't enter a team. Wanganui however do enter (and also haven't won as far as I am aware).

Finish in top 4 on points, race for top 4, end of story, easy I would agree with that if we had a fair qualifying system. But it'd take all week. With 11 teams every team should race every other team. 10 qualifying races each. Then the top 8 go into the finals. 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5. The four winners go into the semi finals, the two losers from there race for 3rd and 4th, the two winners race for 1st and 2nd. But at two races per night, three maximum (with teams having six cars but only racing four at a time, teams should be able to compete in three races per night but not for six nights in a row), it'd take a week to complete a completely fair event. That's why the current system is as fair as you can get. To only meet two opponents during qualifying does not give a true "top 8" for the second night. That's why it IS fair that a team that qualifies 7th or 8th can still fight their way through to third.....IF they are good enough. Barry B

Finish in top 4 on points, race for top 4, end of story, easy Talk about being stuck in the mud! The second 4 may have just had ONE bad race? So they are not in contention, so go home! Would that make YOU happy? Why would they race the second night, if not for a chance to be top 4? They know they can't win the event, though. More sense talking to a brick!
