It stinks that it is put on screen while many clubs are at the track! Does it get shown again or has it been on before?

yes interesting time seeing may die hards on the way to the track.
good to see the champs, good viewing. Well done Cue TV and Cromwell.
Now I can see why some posters on here commented about vehicles being allowed inside the stadium. Those that parked down at fence level block the view for all those behind them. 2K's used to allow vehicles in, but for bigger meetings I see they are all out in the paddock now. Vehicles also = boot loads of alcohol and trouble at bigger meetings especially. To Cromwell's credit, they acknowledged this and added it to the list for review.

Congratulations CUE TV I just watched the mid day replay of the events. Awesome coverage & well presented...Great Promotional coverage from this TV Company...
Any One got any Idea of how many Patrons went to this Prestigeous Event. Maybe someone in the know could tell us. It was a bit hard to tell how many people were there as the Parked cars seemed to have preference over the paying Public.
Well Done CUE
Cheers

Well I watched it and am going to take a different tack. I thought it mostly boring . stuff all passing moves shown and a heap of prep laps . what a yawn apart from a few moments .
Thank goodness it was shown on a channel at the back of beyond because it wouldn't have endeared the sport to the public at large .

Yeah I agree with u Macgor. We were there racing at the meeting and alot of interviews were done before the start of racing Saturday night. In my view the program was an hour and a half of wheel packing, lol. I feel they could have had interviews between orange lights. Don't get me wrong, CUE TV do a good job for NZ Speedway.

Have to agree with Macgor. While the filming etc was good, when I turned on I wondered how showing the finals - 3 races - was to go for 1 1/2 hours. Not sure what last race took to run but sure must have been over 30 minutes. I do not want to get at the club and the people filming as a good job and great to get the sport on TV but a 30 minutes package with the stops for orange lights cut out would have been a great promotion.
Also felt sorry for poor marshall out there with his crutch hobbling on one leg

Was a nice pic of you tho Rex ;D ;D And I agree, how can pre-race jockeying into position be a highlight. Great to get something on the box tho, which not everyone seems to be able to achieve.

As I said GORDON.... The COVERAGE was awesome.... no mention of the actual racing ...However I did note that 4W seemed hell bent on ending 81Ms championship in the 3rd race.... That took me back afew years
For all the previous 6months hype about how the track surface would mean much passing, etc etc etc ,I have to agree that the racing was not as good as the above pre meeting hype....
The other concern to me though is the fact that should Prestigeous Championships be held where few crowd venture other than the hard-nosed followers.... I am not sure
This Club worked their butts off for this meeting.. and good on them.. but the same questions crop up about ONWARDS & UPWARDS for Speedway
Cheers Wiseowl

And as I said Allan , "I thought it mostly boring ".
I'm not trying to knock people that gave it a shot but you can hardly call coverage that missed most of the action Awesome. Unless there was no action .
And it seemed to me that there was a very good crowd in attendance

mmmm seen great coverage from cue tv before and sadly after watching super saloon champs felt it was a little flat, editing could have had more interviews and commentary was not always correct, seemed to be more dead laps than race laps (mind you we did have a heap). missed several hits and incidents that could have filled the viewers in more and after race commentary on those incidents.. think a re edit could be the go and shorten down to an hour ... it lost me a little and i was there,
nice smile rex...

I agree with Magor, amongst others.
The coverage itself was ok, although it beggers belief why directors will cut from two cars having a battle, to show a car on its own??
There are some people around who seem to believe that if you put speedway on telly and show it to people then they will love it and flock to their nearest track. I am fairly sure anyone who had never seen Speedway before who was (un?)lucky enough to stumble across that that show, unless they were die hard motorsports fans, wouldn't have lasted till the end of heat 1, never mind jumping in the car and heading off to the track.
As Macgor says, thankfully it was on a channel that you only get to if you are channel surfing and have all ready found up to 45 odd channels of nothing to interest them.

As somebody who was both at the event and has seen the TV coverage (well, two-thirds of it anyway, as when I recorded it the info given stated it was 1 hour coverage, but it was obviously 90 mins. I've re-recorded a later showing which was advertised at that length, but haven't watched it yet), I feel qualified to comment. Also knowing that Cue TV record their commentary live, as opposed to Telesport who provide a voice over later, means errors can occur that cannot be touched up later.
But have what I seen to date done the event justice? No. The track surface was certainly better on night one, but still pretty good on night 2 as well, which is all we saw. The most passing of the weekend was by Dean Waddell in heat 2, 20th up to 10th (the next best in that heat was Ray Stewart up 3), but did we see any of that? No. We only saw the race leaders basically.
But yes, for me 60 mins would have been more than enough. All those laps under caution was a real turn off for me, let alone a new viewer stumbling across the coverage. I actually went to sleep twice, and had to rewind. I liked the camera angles, but as usual we really need more of them but that all costs money. In this case I think it was the editing, or a lack of it in some places, that failed to show the event as the spectacle it really was.
