I dunno this as 100% gospel but I would imagine that you can be trailered on the night and referred to the board for punishment. So you wouldn't leave the track knowing that your banned for life. I dare say there have been people banned for life in the past but off the top of my head I cant think of much you could do on track to earn a ban like that. I would imagine somthing like striking an official would earn a ban like that.
Car Wrecker is on a fact finding mission for SNZ in Hawaii at the momant, i am told, If he logs on from over there he may be able to help.

I know of an invited driver that attended a meeting some 10 to 15 yrs ago a Whitianga got just that for nailing one of the locals and rolling him big time to the point he came out of his belts & then out the side window a...s first. We are talking saloons here.

In my experience, from production saloons.
1:I got trailered, and a 3 week ban. 2: Trailered with a wrecked car, broken foot (my fault), $100 fine and referred to the board. 3: decision from the board was 6 month ban (till 01-01-09) and on probation for the remainder of that season. All of witch was fair but could have been prevented if things had been taken care of in the first place!

At a guess
Assaulting an official? No wait someone in Auckland did that and nothing major happened.
If they are using the sports drug rules, second offense is a life ban.

What happened was that in the third hest on sunday at rangveiw there was a rollover which brought out the red flags(and yellow and chequered flag so didnt really know what to do but as everone else stopped so did I) so we all stoped and this car that I had a half a lap lead on ran clean into the back of me so in anger I hooked reverse and revervsed into him (at this point I should point out that there is quite a bit of tenson between me and this driver from past races) I then point to my dad who was standing on the bank to ask if the car was ok at which point the flag man left the flag box and walk in between me and my dad as I was pointing(they then go do drop the green flag as if to clutch start us wave the green then the red again) I then get a black falg wraped over my bonnet and told to go infeild which I did then the man with the black flag comes over to ask what my problems is and that I should drive with my head and the reason I was black flaged was because that I gave the flag man the fingers so I told him ''get the darning escort of the track he ran into me on a red flag'' to which he said ''dont darning swear at me'' so as the race finshed and I was really angery as they didnt black flag the escort I started up and when to drive toward the pole line at which point the man with the black flag told me to turn my engine off and wait I said "what the darn for the race has stopped" which he said "put it on the trailer and dont ever come back again".

Is Rangeview an SNZ track or a black track?
Would this incident go on an SNZ issued log book?
Meanwhile, swearing at officials is generally not a good idea regardless of the circumstances, you never know when your going to get an intolerant one. I'd say let this other guy get himself in the doodooh, people like that always do sooner or later.

Is he the refeere or steward? If not i wouldnt take any notice of him, yes you did wrong by backing into the other car as he may not have seen the red, but unless he could prove you were pulling the finger, i would say he had no right to say what he did. Check first to find out what position he holds and take it from there. CTRA must have a head honcho like our Timmy, take it to him/her.

I would write to rangeview committee stating your case and explain in nice words your side of the story. By putting it to their committee in letter form, there has to be an reply in writing. Neither party in my view is totally blameless but i cannot and will not accept an over officous flag waver throwing his weight round. If it was a SNZ sanctioned event you would have had 10 minutes to protest any actions by other drivers, I dont know what the rules are with other santioned tracks. Good luck with the letter, it will help, I dont think you have been banned but its best you get it clarrified. Also, did you have a class rep that day?, If so if you were in trouble im sure you would have been summoned to the the officials box for a please explain.

imho codi i would not waste your time with the place, they always seem to drive like that, my one and only visit there watched a car blatently roll another and nothing done, look at the state of 44rv, ex 44v it for sale and stating damage normal for the racing, as i got told it not a snz track dont let them write in your snz log book like some do

Watched the RV guys at Ferndene the other weekend, one of their officials who was racing drove off the track into the pits while the race was in progress, the Pits flagman had to change his undies after he jumped out of the road.so nothing would surprise me on their home track/roundabout.
