This has come as a complete shock and surprise to us and we are truly saddenned to lose one of speedways alltime hard cases, although he always kept us up to date with what was going on, even still it comes as a shock. Your texts and jokes - and your prescence will be sorely missed by us all, Bazza.
Lots of love from Yaz and Eddie, Linz and Sue.

Bazza you were a true champ and one heck of a nice bloke, you were always smiling and such a happy go lucky kind of bloke, I will miss the smiles, that wink and the clapping of the hands as I come off the track wether it be driving off under my own steam or on the back of a tow truck, you ran the pit gates like a pro and you were a pro at it. You will be sadly missed by all.
Cheers mate, may you rest in peace and keep smiling.

Well what a shock to read this sad news. I had the pleasure to finally meet bazza at Wanganui on saturday for the first time. What nice friendly guy, can see why he was so popular with the speedway folk.

What a shock to hear this news.
I only got to meet Baz the once and it was a privilege to do so.
I did however communicate with PMs from time to time and thank him for the valuable stockcar history that he was able to give, as well as some very funny stories.
Bazza, you will be hugely missed by all, RIP.

This thread is a testament to Barry and his ability to connect with so many people through this great sport we all love so much.
Im unsure as to Barrys family situation, but im sure that the words expressed by so many on learning of his passing, would be a comfort to his family and reinforce how respected he was across such a wide and diverse group of people.

I never got round to asking the mighty Busterfan why he shifted from the pitgate from Baypark to Palmy but I go to Palmy often and always ask him how his health is as soon as I get there, lovely man loved speedway, people and what he was good at,the pit gate, he will be badly missed, condolences to Barrys family

RIP Bazza, my heartfelt thoughts and best wishes go to your loved ones. Another magorian goes to the big race track in the sky. This man at times was a calming influence to the sometimes hotheaded that frequent this site. Thank you for your patient ear at times Best Regards Jeff See

Could always count on a "Hello Mr Walsh" whenever I saw Baz. For ages Baz knew who I was long before I knew him.
Will be surely missed amongst the speedway fraternity.
