Looking forward to seeing some results as they rip through the South Island. 6 tracks - 6 nights, awesome setup. Can anyone help me with info on what body style and engine type 22D Craig Shaw from Island Park is running.

I've got 44D GARY Shaw as running a Mustang with a 302 Ford Windsor. Still trying to track 22D unless the series website has wrong number up. Cheers

The best Saloon racing I have ever seen has been at a boxing day meeting in Stratford (12 supers on track, with skinny and blondie dominating) and Greymouth ( King of the coast, with Trevor Elliots do or die pass on Mark (or shane) carey on the last lap of the run off on the banked sea bend to take out first, throttle pinned and in the wall or glory - it was glory that time) I think the heavy surface, wide track, and big banking will make this an awesome meeting for the saloons. the weather has a few clouds around, which means the moisture and water table will make it 2 lanes and drivey all day. I might have to come up from the pits to watch a couple of races this time i think. Heres a pic of the last meeting - Brownie really has the track starting to come good. And this is the tight corner too ! plenty of room for the big saloons to have some fun Incidentally, this tight corner is where Muzza gordge went in backwards all day to win his last NZ title - no one else went in as hard or as deep, and he made every pass stick clean. Unreal, and again a credit to the surface.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what the weather is doing in Cromwell this evening, fingers crossed it holds out for the teams. What a mission of an event, a good perspective in the ODT www.drivesouth.co.nz/news/16343/woods039-caddy-at-wheelGood luck to all drivers, can only imagine the hard work required to get around the tracks, keep the car ready, and actually work

Results should be up on the www.saloons.co.nz website later. Was hoping to have someone in the crowd with info but their phone must have died.
