Looking sharp Krizo - be great to see any more pictures as you continue through the process, as its pretty rare these days to see a flatty being built. I think from memory Krizo called it a hybrid chassis rather than a flatty in the pure sense of the word. As I understand it a true flatty may have a drop floor but it does not provide any significant structual benefit, whereas the Krizo type way has relies on a lot more substantial bracing than a 40x40 drop floor. Its interesting that in the 29s thread (pinned to the top of the general board) there was a question posed about lateral strength of laminating chassis rails side by side or on top of each other The response given by 29S was I would be interested to know if Krizo would give his views on this as I would have thought that the way Krizo has done the chassis rails would provide lateral strength (BTW krizo I understand that yours are not simply two bits of box laminated together) but taking out the specific construction of the Krizo rails, I would be interested in your views. Obviously given the Krizo chassis numbers currently in or headed to Stratford that you may need to relocate. Dont forget to drop my free sponsored Krizo chassis off to me on your way thru

the old auckland special Bump - and Arfur?
Or a leaf out of the tri rail flatty...maybe a dual rail flatty?
Your right, be great to hear some of Krizos design reasons - his cars normally go pretty quick, and seem to hit pretty hard.

Dont forget to drop my free sponsored Krizo chassis off to me on your way thru yep,it's a hybrid....well if ya look closley,it's nearly a trirail.only have to bring the bottom rail forward and angle it up to the centre rail and it would be a tri rail.keep your eyes open as have been approached by 2 fulla,s wanting a tri rail,am keen for it but they gotta give me the go ahead......and the $$. not all my flatties are the same bump, the customer may want to make changes,so the ones you are talking about, there are only 2. as for the opinion on the 29s car, well,if as suggested he is using 50mm box 3mm thick, this will in no way be as strong as on top of each other for sideways bending strength, unless ofcourse he is using high tensile.the 59s spacey i built in 1998 using 40x40x4mm mild steel rails, one on top of each other, is still straight as,but i also heard they cut alot of bracing out to lose weight, sooooooooo ?? in the end they all bend over time, but dont get me wrong,i ain't running 29s down at all,it's just my opinion that the "on top of each other" is much more stronger. oh yeah, havent started the "sponsored" car yet bump
