Seed the top 4 teams from last year and do the draw on the infield at Palmy the meeting before the teams champs. I like to have an idea of whos's racing against who well before the meeting starts..... plus you get some good discussion on these forums before the meeting starts

1/ dump the draw and seed all teams. 2/ If some are to be seeded and the rest drawn do it in front of the crowd at 6.30 pm. Most important of all is to do it honestly and up front. 3/ don't call it a draw if it's not. I like (1) always have wanted it done that way got part of the way with more teams races on the second night which creates the seedings for the next season

I know it doesn't help with the programme too much but I would like to see it at the track at 5 O'Clock with all team managers present. Each Championship you go to you either have to amend the programme groups, and on the 2nd night add the qualifiers names any way, so I can't see the big prob. The programme can have the fromat and just fill in the non seeded teams as drawn with team managers. Some one that is sceptacle (not me by the way)may sugest the programme is alraeday at the printers and the "draw" was fabricated for TV. ;D I can tell you for a fact having put the Teams programme together for the last 3 years, i was always sweating on getting the teams draw. Last year in particular was a nightmare with Wanganui in one second and out the next,And having to try and explain in the magazine exactly how the Saturday night draw worked. I knew the draw when everyone else did. All the rest of the mag was put together and that was the last piece of the puzzle

Leaving the spots balnk and adding the 12 teams ( or 8 non seeded ones )into the programme on the night doesn't seem a big issue to me and it would stop you sweating about getting the teams draws. This would also mean not having to worry about the in or out Wanganui team as if they turn up for the draw they are there to race. Let securing the 12 teams be Bruce's problem. It would also give the crowd something to do while waiting for the racing and then add to the banter / discussions once the teams are drawn and we find out who is to battle who. If done right it could actually add to the atmosphere.

I like this idea It would also only allow teams 30mins-1hr to prepare for the team they have just drawn to meet 1st ;D A little bit more off the cuff so to speak

Does the sport of speedway get funding through the TAB?
At the end of the day if the draw is made public so there is no question over back rrom deals or rigging then i dont think anyone could complain...could they?

They asked when I would like the draw done not the TAB Admittledly I hadn't factured the TAB into it until Ramjam bought it up. Not really a better, more of a drinker!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Whenever it is done the meeting will be a cracker.

A big part of the pre-meeting hype has always come after the match ups are announced too, something that would be lost if it was done another way.

Having the draw just before the start of the meeting would not stop it being rigged if there was a will to do so Anyone skilled at slight of hand could do any draw they wanted with you standing right in front of them. I could probably do it myself in front of a room full of people and I'm absolutely useless compared to the real McCoy. No matter how the draw is done there will always be cries of "it's rigged", so we should just forget about that side of it and do the draw in a way that will give speedway the maximum media exposure. Breakfast TV or Close Up would be ideal but don't know how realistic that is.

The 2011 ENZED Teams Champs draw will be televised as part of TV3's Gillette Motorsport show this Sunday afternoon - exact time to be confirmed.
The top 4 teams from last year, the Nelson Tigers, Team GB, the Manawatu Mustangs and the Waikato Wanderers, will be the four seeded teams, the other entrants being drawn randomly as to who meets whom.
In a break from tradition, the Lucas Oils sponsored TV coverage of the event will also be screened on TV3 this year, following on from their great work on the 60 Minutes documentary last year.

will the drawn numbers be actually seen by the veiwers, or will they be all thrown around the room to divert attention from a rigged draw. they need the lotto barrel, with no human intervention in the selection.
