.....was done live on the radio last year (was going to be done with a member of each team on the second night at 2k's, but the washout prevented that happening).
In the past it's been done in varying places, including at Western Springs and on Sky TV. How would you like to see it done in 2011?

Live on breakfast tv show would be a great idea. The more free publicity we can generate for the sport the better?

In Local strip club with a cake and 1 woman representing each team exiting the cake in various stages of nekidness ;D That's the best idea I've heard yet. Bruce?? You might only need half a dozen women, as you'd immediately have 6 pairs, I mean your first 6 pairings on display.

I know it doesn't help with the programme too much but I would like to see it at the track at 5 O'Clock with all team managers present. Each Championship you go to you either have to amend the programme groups, and on the 2nd night add the qualifiers names any way, so I can't see the big prob. The programme can have the fromat and just fill in the non seeded teams as drawn with team managers. Some one that is sceptacle (not me by the way)may sugest the programme is alraeday at the printers and the "draw" was fabricated for TV. ;D Other than that the cake idea has merit.

On the infeild....right at the start of the meeting. with NO seeding of teams. Every team comes in even, a draw is done, with maybe a member of the crowd pulling the numbers. First two teams then jump in their cars and hit the track, and bring on the most awesome weekend in NZ speedway. Then everyone in attendance sees and hears the draw as its being done. Can fill in the blanks in the program and there you have it. So simply there is no way it will get done. I mean if we did it that way, what would all the people who whing about the draw favoring the home team do???

Infield this Saturday at PN speedway meeting, call out a program number and get the program holder to do the draw.
But keep the seeded top 4 from last season.

1/ dump the draw and seed all teams. 2/ If some are to be seeded and the rest drawn do it in front of the crowd at 6.30 pm. Most important of all is to do it honestly and up front. 3/ don't call it a draw if it's not.

As a punter I like to know the draw before my bets go on. I like when they takes bets on selected races on night one or if there are groups they have group winners options.... that would all go out the window for me (and knowing the TAB turnover on teams over the past few years many others as well).
An interesting fact that I got from the bookie 3 years ago was that more individual tickets costing $10 or less were sold on the teams champs that year than what were sold on a black caps cricket test that lasted 4 days the week before teams..... and teams normally turns over more than all their other speedway books combined each year. Thats a lot of $5, $10 punters having a bit of fun (not to mention their commission back to the sport) to consider.
