so the bay car didnt have any mirrors? it happened right in front of me he just went straight back into the car. Perhaps the official that directed him backward should have been sent off?. For sure.. heck in Saloons alot of the time in yellows they make the cars cut the grass to avoid the incident area, telling a stockcar to back, back into it is just stupid. As for the cars mirrors who knows.. the rules say to use only 2 small mirrors, which if the guy was a blocker, he may have even aimed so he could see guys by the wall when he was on the pole etc, or with a new teams body different to his own, they have not been aligned to suit the cut holes in the body properly either. Bearing in mind he would have always had his eye on the steward to say when he could stop and been trusting that guy..

Although Wanganui made it through, In their first race they should have won because of Ansty's big grass lunge on the leading Wanganui car going in to turn one, as that was just as bad or worse than any other disqualification during the night.

I'm not sure, but I think Roberts might have been pulled for moving under the reds with out being told to, not for any attacking move. When the reds came on he was on the infield, where he should have stayed until green again. He drove out onto the track under red and then stopped. Initially they shifted him back to the infield but must have reviewed that decision and pulled him off. You could hardly blame the bay car, the officials were moving him back, those things are hard to see out of the back of, so not really his fault. Penn did the same thing as well moved on a red light back onto the track.....for the stove incident was no thumbs down stopped for rollcage exposure which is normal but don't they give you a chance to get off the wall before removeall? Roberts to infield to move was harsh to say the least. And shows you how the night racing went when people are talking about a car backing into another car(unfortunate) on a red light

Whilst we didn't get the results we wanted, and possibly the rub of the green just didn't go our way against the Tigers with officials decisions influencing the race more than anything, the Tigers and Warriors earnt their victories. I do not wish this thread to be dominated by criticism of the officials, but to clarify the teams position on the incidents that occured......
1. In regards to the 53P incident in race 1, I accept that the referee made a decision, but for all those criticising kevin for cutting the pole and hitting the Nelson car, take a look at the state of the pole line and then ask yourself how he was supposed to maintain any sort of car control thru the mud. In hindsight, perhaps the officials could've shown a bit more discretion in their decision making based on the track conditions. I had a reasonable discussion with the referee regarding this and conveyed these thoughts aswell. Unfortunately, when a car is removed so early in the race, there can be no re-dress and the damage is done.
2. The removal of 24K was based on the car being in a vulnerable position in the view of the referee. He has this discretion despite our driver giving every indication that he was OK to continue and capable of removing himself from the wall (as he actually did almost the same time as the red lights were applied)
Perhaps in future, a drivers advocate, or drivers rep should view the race with the referee and consult when making some of the decisions as I have stated above. This may or may not lead to alot less controversy in the future. It just seemed that the weekend had its fair share of refereeing calls that were questionable and ultimately affected the racing results, particularly the relegation of 83N in the race against Stratford.
Just my thoughts for potential improvement, anyone got an opinion...
And my wife has to ask, did the helicopter hovering above prior to the final annoy the hell out of anyone else ?

And my wife has to ask, did the helicopter hovering above prior to the final annoy the hell out of anyone else ? While it may seem trivial it does make one wonder weather that would be distracting as i notice that the light from the helicopter followed the cars into the first corner.I have no idea weather this would be distracting and dont get me wrong im not implying "dirty tactics" by palmy as one of their guys was in front but it does beg the question "why?" and "what was the point?"
