Night 1 Format; 3 groups of 3 teams, each team racing the other in their group = 9 teams races on the first night (all for points).
Night 2 Format; The 3 group-winning teams are joined by the highest points scoring runner-up in the Semi-finals. The winner of Group A will meet that team, while the winner of Group B will meet the winner of Group C. The other 2 runners-up meet in a race for 5th & 6th, while the losers from the two Semi's race off for 3rd & 4th prior to the Final. All night 2 races are first across the line, 5 teams race in total.
The draw will be made tomorrow morning.
The Palmy big-screen team are going to be trying a live 1-camera stream from the event - if Auckland's broadband is up to it!!

I'm assuming something will appear on the Waikaraka Park site in due course.

How did both Palmy and Auckland end up in Group A - the group that is going to face the second place team in the semi-final??
There is only one logical answer - the draw must be rigged!!!!

There is only one logical answer - the draw must be rigged!!!! Once again ;D Panthers vs Rebels as the first teams race of the night? Maybe the draw should be inverted and make that the last race of Friday night........

Maybe Percy can do the draw next year. Then he will know it's not a jackup.

I think you'll find Percy's tongue was planted pretty firmly in his cheek, as it hasn't mattered who has done the draw, where and/or when, for the PN teams each year, according to busterbell and his cronies it's ALWAYS been rigged!! Speaking of which, where IS our greatest conspiracy theorist? The Tigers are racing this year, over to you buster

I think Hawkes Bay lost to Palmy in the final last year.
Yes, there were seedings, Panthers, Hawkeyes and Tigers (lucky them)

who cares if you have to race the panthers in the 1st race as to win the champs you going to have to beat them sooner or later..

who cares if you have to race the panthers in the 1st race as to win the champs you going to have to beat them sooner or later.. Id care for sure if i was Rotorua, or even Auckland! If for example Auckland struggled and both Palmy and Rotorua get bulk points against them, and Rotorua narrowly beats Palmy, Then Rotorua could qualify, with Palmy getting the 4th spot, and then Rotorua would have to race Palmy again in the first round on the second night. Ugh.. that just reminds me when the Kings beat the Panthers, and then had to race them again and lost about 5 seasons back.

I think I remember that alloy...kings came out smoking and chugging like they couldnt get a car to run right and then took a win off the panthers...I was scratching my head wondering what the hell are these jokers doing turning up in this condition...then wham...panthers beaten...awesome... a bit of "rope a dope" I reckon...
im supporting anyone taking on Palmy teams and Nelson but specialy.... C'mon WILDCATS...my hometown team are back in the big show...bring it on!!
