Will consult with engine builder.
Pretty sure they are ACL 10-1 almost flat top (slightly dished). Around 600ish i think
Wasn't balanced in the end, bored, and crank reground after running bearing.
Had a cam from Kiwi cams in Palmy (snow) who also provided competion valve springs.
New caps.
New motor awesome, with heaps of power left - just need to learn to drive it think.
Will get some more detail and foward it to you.
Left the heads standard.
Cheers

Sounds like an air leak within the intake system somewhere,Had a similar problem with a 351 windy not running right and it had an air leak in the intake manifold but with injection it can be a few areas in the intake system that you will have to check,Try checking all hoses ,intake pipes, mating faces of manifold/plenium etc it will take some time but it should fix it

couple of questions about these motors:
does anyone have a photo of a loom straight out a car and one ready to go into a stocky? wanting to know what needs to be done to the loom..or is it a fairly simple loom to start with?
so if i understand it correctly the ecu needs to be changed for ignition only use?how is this done? is it something only a dealer can do or any auto sparky with a plug in tool?
also what happens with the manifold in regards to fitting a carby?
may look into one of these instead of rebuilding the old hemi..

We used the standard loom, and standard coilpack, and standard computer. Andrew Good did the loom, and i think it was 150 bucks in chch, though i did hear the price may have changed. A chch local will no doubt be able to help sort that out. The computer was modified to run by a mate, and i think that was either 75 or 100bucks. All legal, as it was the standard computer out of the road car. Sorry I can't provide more technical advice, but the work by those above was hassle free, and reliable for the last 3 seasons. the only issue we ever had was the motor struggling to start and missing - turns out the coilpak has to be earthed not just hanging loosely on its screws.

are all the looms and sensors interchangable or do you require the correct bits ie: s2 sensors-series 2 loom-series 2 ecu???

How to wire a V6 holden
here is what i have in my car (no computer)
the loom is complete to the coil pack which was erlocated to the cockpit and the following wires are not in use
black with red stripe brown wire wight with purple stripe white with black stripe white with blue dotted line of note there is another white wire with the black stripe so the one that is not used is in the group with the other 2 white ones.
red wire to the ign on side
this is the wires to go to the crank sencor
blue with yellow stripe to go to blue with white stripe white with black stripe to go to black with white stripe light blue with white stripe to go to light blue grey with red stripe to go to white with red stripe.
this is for the stock loom conversion.
the stock alternator wires are also used with the
black with yellow stripe going to im going light (you know what i mean) but it also connects to the red wire on the coil pack and the solid yellow wire going to the other side of this light
the big red lead from the alternator connects to power side of the master switch.
im sure you will be able to work the rest out for yourself
oh and dont forget you need to advance the pins on the harmonic ballancer about 15 degrees but im not 100% sure yet how this is done.
