I dont think the Lions will be as good without Tom Harris who has been the best blockman in the teams champs over the last few years.Dont know if anyone else in the Lions will be able to make up for his loss and if Tony Mac can train someone that quick.Id love to see both Tom and Craig Finnikin back at some stage in the Lions as they have been 2 of their best

In my humble opinion if the rumours about FWJ in the tank at teams champs come to fruition, I think GB will lose little in the blocking ranks.
TO my mind, the most important aspect of a blockers role, is to read the race, recognise the leader, and have th ability to hold that leader up for a sufficient time so his team mates can take the lead back, and win the race.
I think FWJ has proven he can read the race. ANd i think the tank will be reliable, and strong enough to take the hits and keep on trucking.
If FWJ ends up in a blocking role in the tank, I think his racing nous will make him very effective for GB.

True Obby, very true, but FWJ and Finnikin (especially the latter) are/were great runners too, and that role will now fall to those less experienced. Certainly have the talent to be Top 4 tho....

Well, for quarter of a lap anyway!

Can't recall the year, but it WAS Stu Smith.....
That was the year before Team GB, Stu was in the Mustangs I think? and announced after the roll over that they'd be a UK team entered the following summer.

After the car was righted and he'd unbelted, he jumped out, climbed onto the roof and waved to the crowd. Looked like a happy, wind-up garden gnome with a helmet.

Hi all, if this is anything like the UK forums then I'm sorry for being upbeat and positive lol. Just to introduce ourselves we are Shayne and Leanne. First time out here currently travelling around the North Island taking in the amazing sites and counting down the days to the team champs. 1 week to go yay . Its taken years to finally get the funds and time off work to get three weeks combined holiday and a very big wish list tick, to watch the big teams meeting in NZ. We're all the way from the UK so you can guess where our allegiance lies lol. We all know the talent Mark Taylor has to offer. Frank and Murray have been around long enough to be more than capable, both are not only excellent drivers both ex world champions and both exceptional car builders? Really looking forward to seeing how Ryan works out here. In the UK he certainly knows how to hit and speed has never been an issue. Mark Woodhall is the guy you probably least know. In the UK he is a strong forcable consistent driver more than capable of making a mark shale is his specialty. Absolutely cannot wait to see this live. Take care all and if a dumb looking Pom stops you asking what the hells going on please explain slowly its all new to us lol

Hope you and Leanne enjoy your stay here Shayne. It's sure different to UK racing. I stayed with the Harrison's in 1989, and Ryan wasn't even born then!! Team GB have done very well, and won over a lot of fans, since their debut in 2009.

In any case, your best bet would be to call Ticket Direct and check with them (0800 4 TICKET) IIRC, rumors of a sellout popped up last year too, and possibly the year before that.

Thanks folks I'm liking the banter bit and Leanne has a mush on her louder than a Chevy on the limiter when she gets going. So if you see a union flag and everyone around shaking their heads it's probably because Frank just hammered one of your boys up the wall. Hows we doing for a banter starter lol. 7 days and counting, do say hi if you see us and give us your views on who's the best out their and what to watch for. That bit has to be the same as the UK who owes payback who is always an entertainer and who gets a little too excited all priceless info for a fan.
