I never said anything about the Team drivers they are all great drivers with the best cars. Its the bull nuts calls from the officals that makes it not worth all the effort of getting there. They sure take the offical calls though to help themselves out

As far as the Panthers being clad in black; some of us who are long enough in the tooth will remember the good old days of the early 1970's and the Central League. The Panthers of that era were often referred to as the Black Panthers, and the likes of Big Bad Charlie, Jack Noaro, Peter Hetterley, Warrick Sisson, Barry McKenzie, Roy Eaton and even Bruce Robertson raced in all-black cars. They were a couple of decades ahead of their time ;D
By the way, they were loved in Palmerston North, and loathed everywhere else back in those days too. The more things change, the more they stay the same!

Black is a slimming colour which basically equates to higher volume of T-shirt sales to there fans........., everybody knows that. You will notice some other teams have gone to the same colour, for the same reasons. The teams that have stayed with there more traditional colours most likely have better conditioned fans..... BL

I think the Wanderers v Mustangs (Ross v Whittaker) epic battle was just awesome, and I'd love to see Karl back next weekend, even if it was for a different team in a different car. photo sharing

I hope this year they only have the drivers on the cars for the grand parade. looks a mess to have all the hangers on perched everywhere.

And how does that relate in any way to the officals calls The last I heard the main referee is from rotorua for teams.. if referees aren't from palmy I doubt they'd favour palmy.. plus palmy got penalised heavily the year they last didn't win. A very hard sport to referee perfectly but I've yet to witness blatently corrupt decision making by the refs
