I hope this year they only have the drivers on the cars for the grand parade. looks a mess to have all the hangers on perched everywhere. Guessing you are not a driver. Most drivers are so grateful to the people helping them all season that having them on their car for such a huge parade is a good thank you. Oh, and some of the hangers on are worth looking at.

Whats happened to Karl Ross this season, has he been spotted? He was the hero of what many deemed to be the race of the weekend last years teams?? Probably 2nd biggest hero in the 2nd biggest race but most people are too biased to recognise the team or driver who who was the biggest hero.

The "mess" is what makes it a great opening to a great meeting. It takes a lot of work from a lot of people to get those 60 Superstocks ready to go Teams Racing for your pleasure.

I Am a Panther Supporter always have been and win or loose always will be, My favorite part is when each out of town team gets knocked out then those fans change to Support the next team to race the panthers, so by the time a final comes round it is palmy against the rest of the country, I love it when the boys do the job and bring it home. I get to stand up, and yell and applaud a job well done, ;D What i don't get is why do people boo the panthers, Its not cool, sure they want to win, but they also put on a great show for all of us.

Nothing wrong with Palmy vs 'rest of country' just as long as the as the support doesn't get out of hand. Banter and giving people stick is all fun but abuse is not where its at. My friends and I have definately copped a fair amount over the last few years maybe this year will be different?

I jump the other way. Its all Orange till you can be orange no more and then its go the panthers. Eagles would be a spanner in the works but how likely am I to have to pick them if the tigers and panthers are gone.

I agree with the first two sentiments expressed here BB, but the last one is a crock! There no drivers out there that do it "for our pleasure". It's all self indulgent, egotistical self enjoyment - and thank god for that, because that's what makes it such a spectacle.

Simply because people are sick of them winning I think it is. Sure it isnt there fault that they have the best cars and drivers but people like change and its just repetitive now. Its the same with the All Blacks if they play in Australia or France (other countries too) they get booed because people arent supporting them.

The panthers are the team everyone loves to hate, Its just like when rugby supporters go for any team playing against Australia. These rivalry's are what make people want to go to teams racing(as well as general carnage ;D)

Without the rivalry teams wouldn't be teams. Where would the fun be in dressing up making signs banners and painting yourself up? To end the palmy bashing the tiger hating and general negativity we should paint all cars the same color same body's and eliminate all team names and numbers. That way no one can have an adverse opinion towards anyone.
I doubt anyone would be keen on that idea. so lets embrace the rivalry in good spirit. I don't agree on booing any competitor or team. I just prefer some teams not to win(with a passion). so ill be there with my yellow and black my stratford signs and ill be making a hell of a racket for my team and anyone racing against palmy. Ill be exchanging friendly banter on turn 3 with the palmy, nelson,, welly, great Briton and hawkes bay supporters hoping for good clean and fair racing on the 8th and 9th and of course for a stratford scrappers win. I hope everyone can get over the aggressive hating of any team and enjoy the racing and atmosphere for what it is FUN. If you cant show up without your mates then stay at home, Angry fan, Aggressive fan, In your face fan and of course fighty fan.

Sadly it is not alcohol free. We went to Woodford Glen ,Greenstone Park and Nelson who are alcohol free . It was a pleasure to watch stockcar racing without the drunks

As the teams champs get closer, I really am getting excited. Is it wrong that this morning while watching some teams action on youtube, I got quite emotional...and yes there may have been a tear or two....I've been away for far to long..I can't fricken wait!! And I love all the banter in here..people slagging off other teams...it all adds to the hype!!

Well like every year my friends and I will dress up, have a few jars sling a bit of banter around the grandstand and generally have a good time. We have never had any problems in the past with drinking. it is the small minority that ruin a 'privelage' for others
