1v2 3v4 5v6 7v8 9v10 11v12 13v1 2v3 4v5 6v7 8v9 10v11 12v13
Top 4 seeded teams = 1,4,7,11
Only problem here is a seeded team races first which wont happen.

You've said your seeded teams are 1, 4, 7 and 11, and race 1 is 1 vs 2, so that's not two seeds. Or is that not what you meant?

Wrong end of the stick there barry
I am presuming that one of the advantages of being a seeded team is that you do not race the first race of the night because the track is at its worse.

I will be personally slightly gutted if there are 13 teams. Whilst it is probably best for the sustainability of the event that there are 13 keen teams, I feel anything but the 12 team format is second best.
With the 12 team format you are only competing with the other teams in your group to advance to the semis. With the 13 team format (same with 11 teams in other years), you are competing with every other team to get into the semis. Points scoring becomes of even greater focus. I felt the difference in the quality of the races between the 2 nights at the recent Stockcar Team Champs was largely due to the format (acknowledging that there was no choice for the promoters with the number of available teams).
I do think this detracts from the action. However, I will be happy to be proven wrong with a spectacular first night this year!
It is definitely a hard job for the promoter to finalise the teams, so not trying to be negative about that, just saying it is not my ideal! What would be so wrong with limiting it to the first 12 confirmed teams in years where more than 12 are keen?

the more teams the better m8 and we will get 13 teams races on night 1 and just maybe in a year or 3 we could have a 16 team comp

As for the US, just put Ricky Logan, Jonathon Allard, Craig Dollansky, Donny Shotz and Peter Murphy in some borrowed Supers (I'm sure Pete Rees and Scott Meirs have enough spares between them!) and let them loose. And I don't think those soft Aussies could handle the hard hitting of Teams racing!

Another problem with this draw is its a distinct advantage to be team 9 as in both of their races they dont meet a seeded team... make seeded teams 1 4 7 10 The seeded teams in a 13 team format will be 1, 4, 7 and 10. Team 12 will meet teams 11 & 13, all non-seed. When you have an uneven draw like that, you're always going to get a slight imbalance. It's impossible not to. With an 11 team draw you'll have 1 unseeded team meeting 2 seeded teams, all of the others meeting 1 seed and 1 non-seed. With an 13 team draw you'll have 1 unseeded team meeting 2 non-seeded teams, all of the others meeting 1 seed and 1 non-seed. It's only a perceived advantage however, as a couple of years back the Panthers were not a seeded team so any pre-conceived "distinct advantage" was gooooone.
