Have been told by a friend who got a phone call from a well known Waikaraka Park identity that Friday night is almost sold out and Saturday night is sold out already. Is this true? I certainly hope not. If I turn up at 5pm I expect a ticket paid in cash at the gate not to be penalised because I have no printer and no credit card.

I didn't know they were pre-selling tickets, but they may be? I find it hard to believe, and these rumours surround Palmy every year but are never true, and while I can't believe Friday night will be full (Friday nights in Auckland are never full) it'd be good if somebody in the know could confirm............

From Bruce Robertson @ 7.45am this morning; "Can you squash that rumour please. iTicket do have pre-sales, otherwise get your tickets at the gates. We are expecting big crowds but it's certainly not a sell-out. Don't underestimate the Auckland traffic this afternoon".
Straight from the promoter's ummmm, phone. I'm sure the last thing the ASSCC need is somebody from within their own club putting people off travelling with stories of the place being sold out already.

Parrot should let the promoter know who the 'Waikaraka Park identity' is that told his friend the misinformation.

itickets have been available all season. History tells us that Friday events sometimes don't pull the big crowds. Having said that the advertising around the streets of Auckland that I have seen could help pull in a big crowd. Saturday will be a big crowd so I just bought my iticket to be safe. (finish work at 7pm)

LOL since when has Friday ever been close to a sell out!!
A lot of people on Facebook saying they are only going Saturday. Can't say I blame them, the Saturday show is far superior on paper for the same price.
Looking forward to tonight though, the draw has made for some interesting matchups.

Yep, Fridays are always a struggle in Auckland - stockcar NIs case in point.
Pre-sales was a bit of a well kept secret. WP website has a great page for the Teams event, but no mention of pre-sales. (if you are lazy like me you don't go reading all the other tabs!).
I think the best bit of advice on here is "don't underestimate the traffic!".

Shame some are choosing not to go tonight as the Friday teams racing have usually been awesome.

Shame some are choosing not to go tonight as the Friday teams racing have usually been awesome. And although we've got less Teams and teams races on Night 1 this year, I think the smaller number of teams has actually made qualifying harder, as more of the top teams actually meet each other tonight!!

Double checked at the gate last night, if the full house sign goes up those with an iticket will still gain entry as they should. But stranger things have happened.
