Today is the big day for 77S and Blondie. Will the car pass scrutineering and if it does will he qualify. Blondie is most certainly a capable engineer and driver, look in the thread about groups and his thread on what makes up this car. What has drawn attention to the car apart from being ugly, was when Blondie said the build was to take on SNZ and the super saloon rules. That took away some of the shine of his return and I've been an avid Blondie fan from day one, we are from same town. In some aspects this car and driver have hijacked the 015 nationals, modern day Robin Hood and his band of merry followers. I hope the attention soon goes to all the other competitors and the contest and we see two days of super saloon action at its best. Lets hope all the action is on the track and NOT in the court room's . One more sleep and we will know 1,2,3 NZ plus all the usual dramas .

I realise taranaki is not a wine producing area, and that is probably a good thing as you have demonstrated a remarkable case of sour grapes . if blondie returns to taranaki with a new number on his car, I trust you will do the decent thing and stay quietly in the background!!!!

nice paint jobs and graphics........but to me thses modern cars are butt ugly,,,,,,,stupid question but what road car are they meant to ressemble nice paint jobs and graphics.but to me these cars are butt ugly The dark ages are back there in the 70's, 80's an 90's. If they go fast and 3 wide, I don't care, my eyes are glued.

Seems he suffered cosmetic damage after a rough start. Had the 6th fastest lap in his heat and unfortunately put it in the wall on lap 12. He will be back tomorrow night from wat he told the commentary.

Like he's always said. He's either a podium finisher or he crashes out. Was putting in competitive lap times and I'm sure if he'd finished three races he would of been right in hunt to qualify

Fred the blond ones car is not dead but he hit the wall so he came to just a crawl on the trailer it went a bit twisted and bent But with Brendon ,and the Naki fans It will be back hot and ready like a frying pans I guess he maybe in the repacharge But with blondies skills ,m8s ,i cant see it in the garage And with Rammers in his sexy mission legs He will be standing in his white boxer shorts waving a flag on a couple of pegs And if you want a ride with no fuss Brendon has got the Mana partys double decker bus

Is it a Chev?, Holden?, or BMW? It is an immaculately presented professional looking racecar which is the important thing. I'd rather see a field of 20 immaculate Hypermacs or whatever than 20 bitsers like Blondie's car, all credit to him for thinking outside the box and trying to do something different, but the current presentation of the cars and the BK/ELF series' have really raised the game for this class in NZ, if everyone tried to make cars like Blondie's new one we are just going backwards. I am not just some johnny-come-lately to speedway either, who has only seen/been around the new cars, been going since 1990-odd when I was just a wee lad to the old Baypark. It's not like cars back then resembled road cars much more then either, hell my favourite car/driver back from the early-mid 90's, Skinny's Corvette didn't really look that much like a road-going Corvette of the era... This: Doesn't really look that much like this: I suppose the Camaro's the likes of Waddell and Cowling had in that era did moreso...but whatever...

Was extremely disappointed to see a bunch of fans and race crew sitting between turns 1 and 2 clap and cheer as blondie crashed into the wall . At least he is out there spinning some laps .

Your forgetting that blondie the pentioner probably doesn't have such a budget that allows him to go out buy a hypermac racecar that cost $100,000 (just a guess). All so im pretty sure that was his first apperance at wellington to get a feel for the track and has not had a lot of a chance to set things up. Let me say he wasn't the slowest on track. I bet he will give the non quialfiers a run for their money tonight depending on the weather and if he has enough cable ties to hold the standard 10 together good luck .
