The all-important 2015 draw will take place at Auckland's Waikaraka Park Family Speedway this Saturday night, the same night as the Auckland Allstars versus Team GB Superstock teams race (and the big Dirt Cup meeting for the Modifieds of course).
The Top 4 sides from last year will again be the four seeded teams for this year, heading up the 4 groups of three teams each. As per previous years, the other 8 teams are drawn randomly underneath those four in the standard 12 team format.
Group 1; The Baypark Brawlers ? ?
Group 2; The Wanganui Warriors ? ?
Group 3; The Hawkes Bay Hawkeyes ? ?
Group 4; The Manawatu Mustangs ? ?

Was just going to ask how did the brawlers go to the top seed when they didn't race last year?

I was told at the weekend that Wanganui Warriors would be the #1 seeds this year, and that the new Baypark team would be unseeded. Has this changed, or did Barry think no one would notice?

Well I guess you can take the Busters out of Baypark Busters but you can't take Baypark out of Baypark Brawlers. So Baypark still No1 seed.

doesn't really matter busters or brawlers its Bay park just great to have 12 teams were the winner of each group going through top 4 instead of this nonsense with odd number teams

For example if the alleycats won. (I know a stockcar team) yet withdrew from the following year then the city sinners (2nd auckland team) takes there spot as #1. That doesn't work in my books!

It's a fair question to ask re: the Baypark Brawlers. I imagine the situation is unprecedented and there are no rules that apply to the circumstances so it's up to the promoter to make the call.
A team could have a completely different line-up from one year to the next and still retain their seeding, so I don't think it's the worst decision in the history of New Zealand Speedway.

Percy makes a good point, as he often does. I asked the question, even going as far as saying I assumed that BP would relinquish their seeding, but was told that the Brawlers retain the spot as it was a Baypark team that won last year. There may very well be different rules for the NZ Stockcar Teams, as that is an official SNZ-supported title. This is promoter's choice. With teams like the Panthers and the Tigers unseeded this year, I doubt a seeding will be of huge benefit. Any one seeded team could draw them both in their group....

Barry B we will have to watch with envy as the seed may start to grow perhaps

Will it be names in the hat to get pulled out or numbers that correspond to teams. Oh number 5, thats Palmy, they go into a group with blah blah,....i recall numbers being used before and people claiming that when a supposedly easier group developed Palmy conveniently ended up in there as their number was drawn, A very easy way to manipulate the draw

Over time you're obviously going to get draws that are perceived as both easier and harder. The other thing is, 9 times from 10 Palmy is seeded so a group does not "develop" for them to slot into - they're already heading it!! Barry B

Just a discussion point Barry. So the question. Numbers or names?

Why not numbers AND names? We have 4 Groups and 8 teams, two into each group, so one person could draw a team name and another person a group, or vice versa? Do that 8 times and you've got your line up. Doesn't matter how it's done, busterbell will say it's rigged.

Was just going to ask how did the brawlers go to the top seed when they didn't race last year? because this is how Bruce is going to get the Panthers an easy draw Echo echo- The sound of the Nelson trophy cabinet
