What should of happened with the red light jump? Race stopped and he removed from the track as he was the one putting pressure on 54v after that restart so had a major effect on the outcome of the race. Just quoting my own post here in the hope someone will answer me as I haven't been around the traps for a while, not referring to Mier's as a cheat or anything just wondering what the punishment is for jumping a start/restart? Move cars back to the red light positions and go again like at race start?? I can't find any stated punishment in the rule book but I guess there are a range of options open to the Ref. In practice and bearing in mind the limited amount of meetings I attend these days I have seen , no action, car put back , car removed, relegation. Possibly there is a fine option too.

FYI I only come on here now and again as most of the good reads tend to get cut off at the knees by over zealous moderators who seem to think they know best.......... To be fair, I think this website has survived, unlike other speedway boards of the past that closed because they became nothing but crap shoots, BECAUSE it's been moderated. It doesn't mean we always get it right, but at times like this it's almost a 24/7 task and if that moderation upsets a few that only make an annual pilgrimage here at teams champs time every year - and then some often just to wind people up - it's a small price to pay if that keeps the regular contributors happy. And at the end of the day it's Gordon's baby. He can moderate what he likes. The rest of us try and follow his lead... Barry B

Barry B The pay and conditions for looking after this place are lousy too ay Barry. I'm tempted to say "you get what you pay for and for what you paid you get us." Like it or lump it. But I won't.

At the end of the day had it been another team making a small infringement/s like Mires did there would have been a penalty applied as Stratford and the Tigers have found out over the last few years. Mires jumped the start the commentator clearly spotted this and pointed it out, as for checking up, didn't see him coming to a stop and restarting! His momentum from the jump start eventually let him lend a hand at slowing the lead car down changing the race lead. Also interesting was Mires post race short speech (or back stab), it was clear there are fractions in the Panthers and maybe he has the support of the promotion-bosses-refs on his side hence them not picking on his minor infringements which in my view they got right anyway. I think what gets other supporters frustrated is that other teams have been pinged over the years for minor stuff which has put them out of the running. It took another two and a half complete laps and another red light (due to another wheel on the track) before I think it was 88P whom put Bevan into the wall on turn 3, so even if 8p did jump the green two reds before, (in my opinion) I don,t belive that the 1 mtr or so that 8P may have picked up changed the course of the race. Also 2P was right on Bevan's bumper when the first red came on! agreed as I said if you read it!! quote " not picking on his minor infringements which in my view they got right anyway".

See the red light in turn 2 ?? Beside the red car..but how far did this car travel ended in turn 3 and start in turn 3 under a red light and never got put BACK..makes my Blood red too. Yet a car was hang on the wall got down and moved a foot then the reds come on and they put him back a foot, that car wasn't a p car either. I thought the same thing in this instance. The light was put on the instant that the car rolled and then 8p travelled nearly 1/4 of a lap under the red without being put back at all. I couldn't believe he was left where he stopped, the ref must have been watching those 2 cars because he reacted so fast with activating the red. It is a fair question to ask why was he not returned to that spot.

Does anyone know why Mike Mac was dropped from the Hawkeyes for this year? The selectors must of regretted that decision over the weekend..he had a great teams champs and really shone for the Brawlers. Big ups to Kerry Remnant for pulling together a team of 5 guys from 4 different tracks that did an awesome job to finish up 3rd.

Nearly as good as his back straight sprint haha - a real character that really gets in the spirit of teams champs.

It is a fair question to ask why was he not returned to that spot. Probably left where he stopped due to the fact he had a lot of pace on when the lights came on same as any other car on the track, if every car was moved back to where they were the instant the lights came on we'd still be at the track The walled car that got moved back was the cause of the red light because of position with a exposed cage, I'm surprised he wasn't removed rather than allowed to continue & eventually finish second

Not quite tony. The cause of that red was the piece of metal in turn 2. Hence why he could stay on track.

I can't remember seeing on here any comment about Karl Ross taking Scott Miers and Joblin hard into the turn one concrete after the chequered flag in the semi final. Maybe no one had a problem with it because it wasn't a PN car committing an indiscretion. You get the feeling with the anti-Palmy bias that is clear amongst most on here that the internet would have been broken with people crying foul if it was a Palmy car that did the hitting after the flag.

On the live stream it appeared something was about to happen there, but we did not see it Tanky Franky. Ross was certainly running quickly, so I'm assuming it would have been heavy contact.

Barry B It was a heavy contact and Karl didnt come back out in the 3rd v 4th race so was either hurt or stood down as Elsworth came out in the car for the last race but never raced it.

I think I remembered hearing from the track commentators that Karl Ross was injured, with David Elsworth taking his place
