yeah to all of that but..auckland didnt score enough points in their races and qualifying because a team got disqualified isnt really qualifying...I agree if a team is found to have entered an illegal car the whole team should lose it points...but auckland cant hope that someone gets a black flag to get thru..50 percent win loss record isnt great, remember the next team down lost all their races!...so auckland are very close to the bottom anyway.. they cant be too disspointed...auckland didnt race any of the teams mentioned in the thread so wernt affected directly...so really they should have been chuffed and surprised to have qualified..lets be honest about it....yes im ready for the bombardment lol...go Yes we Lost a race on Friday night but at the end of night 1 we had enough point to qualify, yes at the bottom of the table but we got thru. Now to be told at 2.pm the next day, after spending all day on the cars, that we didn't get through was a kick in the teeth for the team. We had people at the camp ground who were helping us with advice, Palmy Napier Wanganui, Stratford, Drivers, Supporters, so we could to sort this mess out. The team were low as fark and to be honest at one stage didnt even want to go to the track but we all decided to hold how heads high and support the Club who were hold the event. Our manager Geoff, was amazing but SNZ told him to go away as discussion was made. (He was fighting till 5.00pm) It was not the weekend we hoped for and if anything this has made the team stronger. I agree Rizza. Auckland did have enough points and were good enough to qualify to Saturday's finals which I am sure was the main aim on Friday for all the teams.
No one has mentioned that Wellington lost both their races and therefore had the biggest gain. I know the points were awarded to them form the Puma's beating so hence they got though. If none of this had happened, I'm sure there would have been a whole different out-come from the meeting. Auckland have a right to feel shafted.
The new and improved Puma's team should feel honoured to be held in such high regard that they were a threat. It must be hard for those young guys to be called names etc when none of this was their doing. I'm sure they will become better and stronger from their experience as well.
My prediction is that snz will do nothing, change nothing and the engines will still be built. They will put it in the too hard basket. Maybe snz wanted to influence this meeting's outcome imho. But then there is a whole lot of 'what ifs'
Great weekend though. Never been to Gisborne and will go back again.

Once the illegal car was taken out of the P vs W race, wellington got awarded the win and the points. |

this thread mentioned a lot that Auckland were gutted and rightly so stratford would have been as well as they finished 9th any team relegation would have put them into the top 8 it was mentioned earlier that this whole controversy started by a driver from one team squealing on another and rightly so but shouldn,t he have done this before racing began did all the cars that finished on the podium get checked for this or anything else did any other cars get checked @ random through out this event you may find that there were others out there who got away with this( mistake) I won,t use the word cheating as I don,t agree the fact that most drivers don,t know what is inside their engines only the engine builders know that and if they modify engines to make them superior to other builders they aren,t going to tell their secret are they so to call a team cheats or one particular driver is a bit harsh it comes down to who knows what is in that engine that are in the wrong oh well that's my say well done gizzy on a great event but next year can you give us some cooler taranaki weather ha ha  |

just because a team gets 5 cars home and still loses the race they still LOST ,
snz give yourself a kick in the bum , you hand out fines on what you think your saw , then when vidieo evidence is presented you dont admit your wrong and up hold the fines REDICULOUS
I also agree that if you enter as a team , the whole team should lose points if cars are deemed illegal not just that cars points ,
on a brighter note it was good to see drivers involed in some heavy hits shaking hands after the race was over, its

A win is worth more points than positions 2nd to 5th combined. |

They came as a team they go out as a Team ,.That why it's called NZ STOCKCAR ( TEAMS ) CHAMPS ....Is that to hard to follow ..if I am wrong why are 2 cars not racing and 1 changing manafold ..Come on SNZ RULES are rules Why do other team sports refs have yellow and red cards. It's team sports so the whole team should be sent off using your way of thinking. Be one way of racking up a few points in a rugby match ,with the opposition team sitting on the bench for ten minutes ..lol |
