Then current NZ Champ Albert Gordge contracted to Palmy from Stratford in 1973/74....track swapping for reasons other than proximity has been going on for decades. and why did he transfer, because he moved to the manawatu,or was enticed to register with palmy @ the end of the day wasn,t a very good move wasn,t seen on the podium again after his transfer so it must of been to fill his pocket as he won the nz title under (S) & his two other nz placings

Thats not racing thats just a complete Farce Can you tell us why ?? Cos a bunch of lads from palmy went out and showed everyone how its done. lol Just my opinion but sometimes it just gets abit to much to bare, this event may as we have been renamed the North Island Superstock champs Part 2, I wonder if come next years champs in Christchurch we ended up with 26 finalists all from the South Island what the North Island Fans/Competitors would have to say.. Im sure there would be more than a few no so nice comments

Can't we just watch the sport we love without having to have some kind of envy about who makes up the field?

Sorry I wasnt trying to turn that post into a slinging match, I was asked why I posted it and i gave my reason, ..I was really pleased to see that the title was won by a competitor winning his first ever NZ Title William gives so much when hes out on the track and Im sure he will be a great ambassador for Superstock racing as 1NZ , as Im sure will both 2nz Adam Joblin & 3nz Jordan Dare.... I cant help it that Im addicted to Super Saloons as the class I follow most.

We arent going to pull that excuse again are we.. Outside drivers were registered to Palmy long before Bruce Robertson. You need to have a little look around and count the number of drivers registered to tracks that are not in the region they live in.. Might surprise you. i know of drivers who contracted to palmy in the early 90,s from another club were getting paid travel, repairs, appearance etc,if this is not poaching what is, all perfectly legal i might add yes all legal but it's also perfectly legal for fans to have the real P's and the Plastic ones.

Feel for Dale Stewart , one point out . Could have easily been on the podium with a little help from his friends... What friends? Seems as tho he might as well had no letter on his car

Just imagine if all the registered Palmy cars decided not to race at a big championship meeting the race would be boring and there would be nothing to winge about pretty ho hum.

It's not just the Palmy cars, it's SNZ that need to sort this issue but they won't as its too difficult and they never seem to fix any issues anyway. In the repercharge the reds came on to remove a couple of stationary cars and KP stopped when leading and was passed by about 5 cars, they then moved him up but even the commentators said he had still lost about 10m. Then after KP rolled 18p and he stopped for the reds he was again passed by about 3 or 4 cars and wasn't moved this time. In the first heat when the reds came on, Dare was on the grass on the front straight and went past about 2 or 3 cars and was never put back. The commentators were saying about how much ground Horse gained on a red and was never put back. They said in drivers meeting that it was going to be watched and you would b relegated....guess that never happened though The commentator got it bang on. He said SNZ go on and on at drivers briefing about cars who crawl on reds and cars who cut the pole line will be relegated... But the drivers know SNZ don't enforce those rules so they just continuously break them. Sitting at the entry to turn one, most races both nights should have had about 5 or so cars relegated for pole line cutting. Don't put total faith in what the commentators say in the heat of the moment. Just spoke to the referee and he never said and never does say cars would be relegated, just stated the possible penalties. Each incident has to be adjudicated on it's merits. He also acknowledges errors were made in the repechage and he holds his hands up to that. What we have to realise is there is ongoing communication to the drivers warning them of incidents/cars stranded on the track, red lights etc. One advantage for instance is drivers can be told of stranded cars and allow the lights to stay green for a bit longer. means we might have to adjust our thinking a little watching from the outside.

He also acknowledges errors were made in the repechage and he holds his hands up to that. I think he had an impossible task - a lot of drivers were taking the proverbial in terms of not stopping quickly for reds, or slowing to walking pace and making an extra 10-15 metres before finally stopping. I really don't think it was possible for much to be done just from what could be seen by any individual. Overall there has to be a better way to both monitor and rectify the issues with getting drivers to stop. Someone else has mentioned GPS which I think is impractical - but it wouldn't be hard to have timing loops every 10m around the track and use those to work out who had done a massive creep.

easy fix , flashing reds for first how ever many seconds, then they go solid red , any car still moving when the reds go solid gets relegated to behind the car that was behind them , this would fix the problem overnight.

Yep the Jacob Baker car goes very well and had a very experienced driver behind the wheel last night,I could be wrong but I thing Scotty said he wasn't going to teams race anymore. yeah you are probably right but he showed the youngsters there is still life in the ""old dog"" yet and he weathered that roll at the Aukland champs pretty well. Yes, saw Scotty at the Springs the next day - he was all good!! Speaking of “old dogs” Kerry podjursky 56v dished out what I think was easily the hit of the meeting, in the tier 2 race. The jag powered tank was flying - coming off the corners it was so impressive - seemed to just squat down and drive out hard! One of the Dykstra cars had a crack at him turn 1 and 2, I think 56v was leading at the time, but payback was swift and brutal . Dykstra got slammed up the wall down the back straight, held up it then rolled, and 56v seemed to hardly loose any speed In doing it.
